I have Java 1.5.0_28
Why don't have the latest? (Digital Audio Dual 533 with Leopard
10.5.8 ...)
that is the latest for Leopard.
1.6.0_24 is the latest for Snow Leopard.
I thin you have had it with PS3 media server's latest. Stick with the
older version.

It may be possible to install Java 1.6 on Leopard?:

Is this the best app / preference pane for connecting a PS3 to my
Digital Audio Dual 533 under Leopard 10.5.8? worth the extra $20?
The UPnP idea seems like something that might be found within Leopard,
but I guess not?
Pros and Cons welcomed.

Pros and Cons
I only have experience of this from my PC days and I used 'ps3 media server'.
It was light, free and did the job. It is also available for mac on macupdates
and runs on Leopard. I would try it and save $20.

I have that, but it won't run
well, I guessing you have 'software update' updated. Which might
suggest, that whilst 'ps3 media server' is supported on leopard,
perhaps only on intel systems.
If you want to pay for the software, I would consider contacting the
developer
