Indeed there are, and Gajim is already in them. Both repositories work
with swaret and slapt-get so it's trivial to mantain and upgrade.

Indeed Slackware GNU/Linux seems a better name. Except that we would be
very happy if you maintain a slackware package ! And there is absolutely
no problem to host it on Gajim website. I don't know how slackware
works, but is there some kind of repositories in which packages can be
placed so it's easier to upgrade ?

Thanks for your help

I should have clarified that I'm not a Gajim Developer, so I have
absolutely no authority for taking any kind of decisions in the Gajim
Project. I'm merely a list subscriber as you are.

Please await the response of an official developer.

The only error you've made is calling the operating system "Linux".
To support the principles and ideals of the Free Software Movement,
please call it "Slackware GNU/Linux" -- its actual name, regardless of
the fact that Patrick Volkerding disagrees with the GNU Philosophy.

You could read http://www.gnu.org/gnu/linux-and-gnu.html and

[Gajim-devel] [gajim-devel] - Slackware package contribution

2006-08-04 Thread Davidson Rodrigues Paulo
Good morning,

I'm a Slackware Linux user, and I've made Gajim packages for that
distribution. As there are no oficial Slackware packages available on
Gajim homepage, I would like to know I could be an oficial maintainer
of the Slackware packages for Gajim, on that form you could publish
packages for that distribution on website.

What you guys say?

Regards,

Davidson Paulo
