Hi. I'm a new member, so I've never posted before. I just had a few
questions. Does anyone know of good free audio or text-based games for
Windows? They can be downloadable or browser-based. I have a Windows 8.1
laptop.

Hi Lanie,
There are plenty of good free and accessible audio and text based
games for Windows. As you didn't specify what type of games you were
specifically interested in here is just a few ideas/suggestions to get
started.
My first suggestion is to try out all of the games by Jim Kitchen
Hi Lanie,
I have 36 free games on my web site. They are Awesome Homer, Baseball,
BattleShip, Black Jack, Bop It, Concentration, coupling, Craps, Draw Poker,
Dungeon Master, Football, Golf, Hangman, Homer on a Harley, Life, Mach 1, Mach
1 tts, Master Mind, Monopoly, Pizza Delivery, Pong,
yes try games from www.kitchensinc.net . also go and read the
audiogames.net forum. you may also try out talking dosbox it has lots of
free games.

Another possibility would be Alter Aeon, which has a really good blind
client over at http://mush-z.com
Alter Aeon is a multiplayer game with magi, swords, dragons, evil
imps, and that sort of thing. You can group up with others, or just
play solo and chat. There's a lot of blind players on it.
Hi Tom.
The One thing about the audiogames.net database is if you go to the search
games option, you can can display a list of games by license type or
genre, or whether the games contain audio, and/or text, and/or graphics.
So, if you wanted to find all the free games, look for the games
talking dosbox already also has a ton of free games in it, including all
of jim's older free games and some others.
