Vista requires 5.3 or higher so I have no idea what installing the 5.1

No, not really. There is no official separate download for Sapi 5.3
and Sapi 5.4 you can't just download and install them like Sapi 5.1
and earlier. Sapi 5.3 comes with Vista by default and 5.4 comes with
Windows 7. There really isn't a way to grab a package and download and

As I recall Sapisvr.exe no longer ships on Windows Vista and later. I
haven't seen it on Windows 7, and I don't remember it being on Vista
either when I was still using Vista. So I'm not certain that is
necessarily a solution any more. Although, it is worth a try.

Then, press enter on Sapisvr.exe. It won't say anything, but it should
correct the control panel entries for Sapi.
