No. There is only one room on level 9 which is the room with the boss.
The rest of the level is just empty hallways full of monsters, and the

Hi Charles,
Technically it is the fault of the OS, because newer Windows versions
have a newer mixer that isn't compatible with older games and
applications that were based on DirectSound 8 and 3d hardware buffers.
However, one can argue the game is also at fault here, because newer

No, having a 64-bit version of Windows shouldn't have anything to do
with it. I have both 32-bit and 64-bit systems here with Windows 7
installed on them and both work the same for me. Although, I haven't
tried them in VMWare which might effect some things.

Hi Charles,
Not necessarily. I know GMA is aware of the problem with DirectSound
and David Greenwood has mentioned that newer versions of Shades of
Doom etc will have a fix for the audio problems on Windows 7 and
Windows 8 so if people want to wait to upgrade I can understand why,
but eventually

Hi Charles,
Well, according to David Greenwood he came up with a fairly simple
solution to the problem. Apparently as I understand it he changed the
values DirectSound uses to position the sounds in 3d and it seems to
be working fine on newer versions of Windows as well as work more or
less the

Sigh...As has been explained to you before there is no specific place

want them or think will do you the most good. In other words use your

Hi Lindsay,
Sorry, I am not sure how to advise you as it sounds like you have an
issue with spatial orientation which is fairly important in playing
games like Shades of Doom. Where and when to place markers is largely
a personal judgment where you think they will do you the most good.
