Hi Shaun,
I don't see any need to hang onto XP for gaming. My new laptop, which
is 64-bit, runs all of the VB 6 games from Jim Kitchen, GMA, etc just
fine when I turn off User Account Control. Its all a matter of getting
the correct dependencies installed, and most of the VI games will
still run

Well, to be honest it is a simple issue of supply and demand as you
know. While all of the new desktops and laptops I've seen out on the
shelves at Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Staples, Office Max, etc are all 64-bit
systems running Windows 7 that doesn't mean this community will
upgrade

Well, it is the direction where most hardware and software developers
are heading long term. Someone just e-mailed me and made me aware of
Microsoft's intention to release a 32-bit version of Windows 8, but
even if that is true that's not what we are seeing in terms of new PCs
though.
