loading saved games from the main menu that Sean had been experiencing, I sent
in the save file that Thomas requested. Imediately afterward however, I got to

Bryan is right. I tested his theory myself and as soon as I copied the
contents of the 0.10.0.0 folder to an earlier version such as 0.9.0 the
game would crash when saving and loading games as described. If you are
having problems crashing when restoring saved games do the following.

ok i must admit now that if I load the wrong slot nothing will happen which is

Yeah, it definitely isn't the save game files themselves causing the
problem. Bryan sent me his, I copied it iinto the application data
directory, and it fired right up. So something else is screwed, but it
isn't the code or the sav file itself at fault here.
