[Audyssey] Self Destruct on windows 7.
Hi, Anyone had any luck with the key gen on Windows 7? I can not get it to work, no matter what I do. When I click on the key gen file, I get the following: Error graphic 798 There was an error with your product ID. The game cannot continue. graphic 775 The product ID does not exist. OK Then after I press enter again, I get this: keygen graphic 798 Run-time error '424':graphic 603 Object required OK Any help would be appreciated. Hi Damien, I've tried registering the self destruct game several times, pushing the computers limits until crashing point. I want to just play the full game. I've had the demo for like half a year, very good it's not a timed trial. [Audyssey] self destruct and draconis entertainment games
Hi all, I am having a major problem registering self destruct. I can't get the game to generate my product id/serial number. That means I can't register them. I even tried the keygen after installing the visual basic6 runtimes and still nothing different. I can't just keep playing the demo. I've had enough of the demo, I'm already tired of it, I need to start playing the full version, I try to register the game and it doesn't work. I need that isue resolved. Please reply as soon as you can with either instructions on getting it to work or your unlock code. Also I downloaded all draconis entertainment games and I can't run the game in demo mode. I click the demo mode button and I get the message demo mode. Please consider registering for full functionality. Then I hit enter and get trial expired, please consider registering. I even tried after a reinstall and still the same thing. Any ideas on how to fix that? You can find it from the www.audiogames.net To register self destruckt, go to your program files folder and click keygen.exe. It'll copy your keygen to your clipboard so you will paste it into the register diolog. The keygen.exe file is copied into the wrong place. Look in the xl studios folder (not the self-destruct folder but the one it installs in), and you'll find it. Just run that file and it'll give you a key to register the game. Beware the Grue! If you used the default install options for self-desturct, the keygen.exe file should be in the xl studios folder beside the self destruct folder. It only ends up in program files if you change the install options so that it installs streight into program files self destruct instead of program files xl studios self destruct. Beware the grue! ok tom. found it but when i register it, it says, that the id doesn't exist and that the game can not cintue then i get an ok button. then i get a runtime errom and an ok button and that's what's going on. both with vista and my gf's xp system and both are giving me the same error so having had another copy to test it out. Hi, Ouch! I'm not sure what is going on with that error, but Self-Destruct is well known for flaking out on you. XL Studeos basically abandoned the game before they got around to working all the bugs out of it. i know. but i think it's a vista issue unless someone can say differently it only happens when i load the keygen file. tried it with uac enabled and disabled and with it disabled, nothing happened, except when i went the long way around and even then, it failed. just wish there was a keygen that was vista compliant but the demo still works. wish someone could update the keygen to make it vista compliant. I want to know what is all the things you can get when choosing one of the treasure chests in the bonus realm. The things i got was 200 urchin mines, 200 move pills and a small bag of gold. Damion, since you have the source code of self destruct, can you tell me if its possible to obtain moves in a chest? [Audyssey] self destruct
I really hope damion is going to work on self destruct. Damion sadler from x site interactive said long ago that jason from closed down xl studios gave him the source code for self destruct and that damion may modify the game. Damion also promised that he will definitely work on self destruct. Self destruct is actually an excellent game except for level10. I feel self destruct should also have a supply room like in treasure hunt that gets restocked. Movement in self destruct is much simpler than treasure hunt. Its just level10 that is a backpain because the urchins moves too fast and the player's moves is very limited. If only level10 of self destruct can be made slightly easier i will be very greatful. To run around the grid in level10 trying to escape the urchins until i found lots of health and ammo or the key to room0 is impossible because regardless of how quickly i tap the arrow keys the urchins is to fast for me and 40 moves is too little. My suggestion is that the grid should have 4 restock rooms with randomly moves, health, ammo, or both placed at random locations. I can even beat the urchin lord after level10, its only level10 that is impossible. It looks like I have to unsubscribe my home address and re-subscribe it. I have e-mailed thom privately and he said he doesn't believe I'm on moderated status. Yesterday night I e-mailed the list about the self destruct cheet codes and once again my post didn't reach the list for sure. Thanks for telling me about the cheet codes, dark. But I can't get it to work. I'm using version 1.1.6 of sd. The users guide says press control+c to use a cheet. So what I did just to test it. I copied the text of the cheet code surrounded by quotes exactly from the website, I started self destruct up and when I was in the game I pressed control+c, I pasted everything with control+v and I hit enter and nothing happens. I'm just put back in the game WITHOUT ACTIVATING ANY CHEET. I tried the level select cheet. I copied it exactly from the website. Hi Nichol. I'm also running that version of the game (I suspect the earlier versions aren't available anymore). As it says on the audiogames.net site, the cheat codes are everything inside the quotation marks, so do! not! copy the quotes. Personally, I prefer to enter the cheats manually rather than coppying and pasting. For example, the level select cheat I mentioned, type Ahh, this is boring! Using a capital A, two H's, a comma after the first Ahh and an exclamation mark after boring. Entering the code correctly, Sapi should ask you which level you wish to go to, now just type in a number from 1 to 10 and away you go! Thanks dark. Will give it a try . Irm, you do not want to play earlier versions of self destruct anyway as there are more bugs in them than 1.1.6. It's a pitty I can't find 1.2 because there is a piece on audiogames.net about 1.2, where you can buy items from murchant robots walking in the grid rather than buying items using the mini computer. [Audyssey] self destruct
Hi all I want to give you some hints about self-destruct and some problems I came aCROSS. Self-destruct, on all 4 difficulties: easy, normal, hard and insane is all right from levels 1 to 9. Level 10 is a real pain on all 4 levels especially on insane. On insane you begin each level with 50 health points so the moment you kill the first urchin immediately buy some health as well as some bullets. Don't try moving to rooms trying to find stuff such as the key to room0, your moves is only 40. Rather stay in that room where you were teleported to when you entered level10 and fight the urchins from there. I find that the urchins firing make it impossible for me to hear my gold, health and bullets remaining. They fire to quickly so by the time I want to hear my health by pressing h and trying to listen to sappi I'm already killed. So I find it better to kill only a few urchins with my gun and buy mines to kill the rest of them. I find it better to buy a few mines than to go to the bottom of the grid to get the bag of mines, because the urchins moves to fast, I can't move around in the grid and fire at the same time. So by setting mines I managed to kill the urchins coming at me. My only hope then is to either kill the alpha urchin or try to fire at the type of shy urchin, which makes a short squeak and then teleport if he sees me. But if you manage to fire At him before he can teleport he changes to the type of urchin that laughs and then you can kill him and get more gold. Or if you are lucky you can find the pass chip And Processor but that happens very seldom. The urchins on level 10 also makes it impossible sometimes to go into the store. Because while I'm fighting an urchin my energy gets depleted before he is dead, then I have to quickly buy some more health and energy. By the time I pressed d to go into the mini computer |I'm already killed before I can go into the store. So on the battle field I managed to kill the urchin lord by standing in the middle of the battle field and then holding down my control key because it seems as if I have unlimited ammo in the urchin lord battle. On easy, normal and hard it works to stand at the top left corner and holding down control but when you try that on insane the urchin lord will dodge your attacks, you will only manage to drain him half of his health and he will kill you but if you stand in the middle of the battle field you will successfully kill him i.e you must stand on space 10 10 because the battle field is 20 by 20 large. Press r to hear where on the battle field you are. The manual says that in insane the alpha urchin will set mines that will kill me but I never stepped into any mines because when the alpha urchin laughs at me and I don't have enough bullets to fire at him I move 2 rooms away in another direction. If it is true what the manual says that he sets mines in insane, I would have stepped into a mine. On the upper floor where you must avoid holes in the floor I find that sappi doesn't always warn me of a hole. Especially in room1 on the upper floor. It happens many times to me that I go right and fall down a hole, but I heard no warning that there is a hole in that direction so I'm confused which is the safest way to navigate from room1 because sometimes if I press down arrow while on top of room1 I also fall down a hole without any warning. ___ Gamers mailing list .. Hi all The file was successfully sent to robin kip. I'm very excited to hear what you all think about the game. I'm looking forward to those tips on how to beat the urchin lord! If anyone comes across the latest version of self destruct which is version 1.2, please send it to me! this version I sent was 1.1.6. ON the audiogames.net website I read about version 1.2 where there is murchin robots from whom you can buy items. and the urchins can sometimes destroy the murchin robots. this feature is not in 1.1.6. Here you buy items from a store. You press the letter d and then you can choose to buy items or track an urchin. If a copy of version 1.2 can still be found somewhere maybe the bug where the game's sounds gets mixed up after you died in the urchinlord battle, is fixed in 1.2. Please feel free to ask me should anyone need some tips on the game. I have beaten the urchin lord on easy difficulty level and I've beaten all 10 levels on normal difficulty level, I'm now busy with the urchinlord fight on normal difficulty level. I finally manage to kill the urchin lord. I only played the game on easy. Now I'm playing it on normal. I killed the urchin lord after level 10 on easy. ON normal it's the same as on easy except on normal the urchins are not shocked when they enter room 91 but on hard and insane the urchins have the ability to chase me and the alva urchin sometimes set mines. But I struggled for so long to fight the urchin lord. I couldn't figure it out. Now I discovered that spacebar tells me my health and the urchin lord's health. I don't know if this is suppose to be like this, but if I hold down my control key my gun fires continuously. So I stand in the middle of the battle field and hold down my control key and when the urchin lord comes on my sectdor he gets a lot of the shots by my control key hold down. When I press an arrow key while holding down control, my gun stops firing, but as long as I remain on one position and I hold down control my gun fires continuously. He also drains me of a lot of health. I killed the urchin lord with 700 health points left. I noticed that level 10, even on easy, is much harder than levels 1 to 9. The urchins shoot me much faster, so once I shot enough urchins on level 10 to earn 12000 gold to teleport, I have to run very quickly through the grid looking for the key to room0 if room0 in level 10 have the bonus round where you have to avoid the holes in the floor or I have to find the teleporter. And if my moves gets less and the bom is warning me, I have to quickly decide: should I use a move pill or should I buy moves if my gold is enough so that I can still have 12000 gold to teleport in either way . If I'm not quick enough, the urchins on level 10 can easily drain my health. ON the audiogames.net webpage I read that the newest version of self destruct is 1.2. I have 1.1.6. Its quite possible that the bug I experience where, if I die on the battle field and I have lives left, When I'm back in the grid, the battle field music and step sound gets mixed up with the grid sounds if I have lives left, have been fixed in 1.2. The audiogames.net webpage also says that in version 1.2 you have robot merchants, which is not in 1.1.6. IN 1.1.6 you have a control panel by pressing d where you can buy items or track urchins. Please let me know if any one know where I can find 1.2. When I either press enter on the url link or the download link for self destruct on the audiogames website, I get 404 not found. The urchin lord is a very interesting name for the boss in self destruct. I know what an urchin is, it's a soor rat, it's a pesky creature taken from a mainstream game.
