hmmm don't know however be aware that game companies will keep quiet unless
they have something to say.
After various issues with release dates most will stay quiet until they
actually have something.
They used to be quite vocal about what they had until they started missing

this caused complaints even though some of the reasons were actual lagit ones.
And ofcause every time they went quiet people asked why.
And then people whined etc, etc.
So I'm not supprised that they are quiet.

If you're meaning can you still buy their old games, then yes. They say
they're also planning to release some new titles but they've been even more
stubbor about not lifting the veil of secrecy than Draconis. Draconis at
least now seems willing to consider the idea. So while folks at BSC have
told me they are going to release more titles I'm not holding my breath. And
anyway I've been upset with them since they canned Castle Quest almost four
years ago.

2009-03-17 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi Ron,
Yeah, in a manner of speaking BSC Games is still open. They are still
selling their old titles, you can get tech support, etc. However, I do
know Justin himself is extremely busy with work, and has little time to
put into producing new games. Although, I spoke to Justin a couple of
months back and know he is working on something. I don't know what it
is, he didn't say, but I know he was researching the possability of
using XNA 3.0 rather than DirectX for the project.

Hi,
Honestly after the Alchemy Game Studios disaster I can't blame
accessible game developers for staying quiet. James North took a
considerable amount of heat that last year he was in the business. It
would have been one thing to let people know he was working on one
project and put it on pre-order and it is quite another to have three
games on pre-order. That ended up being a mistake as he had customers
after him for three different titles when he really only had the time
for one at any given time. Then, he went and started making release
dates that came and went for various reasons, and that only fueled the
flames. Needless to say now days our potential customers are more wary
of audio game developers' credability, and we are wary of saying too
much and getting held to a statement we can't keep.

Re: [Audyssey] bscgames

2009-03-17 Thread Thomas Ward
Bryan, the reason BSC couldn't complete Castle Quest was totally out of
their control. They had contracted independantly with a third-party
developer to design the game. The developer later said he couldn't
complete the project, and BSC had no one else to design the game. Worse
the original developer had the rights to the source code to Castle
Quest, and was unwilling to turn control of the source code over to
Justin. IN the end Justin had a game with no developer and no source
code. To create the game he litterally had to start from scratch which
was more trouble than it was worth. Anyway, being upset with justin or
BSC is really unfair. I know if Justin had a way to complete the game he
would have.

to true.
I have noticed some devs set up blogs so people know when things are going when
they are going, ofcause they are only updated when there is news.
I do remind or ask sertain people with valid address from time to time on
exactly what is going on.
however, it also pays to if you see them on msn what they put in their screen
name title fields that sometimes puts up what they are currently doing.

 Hi Mark,
Hmmm... strange. Ok, a few questions perhaps to try and answer.

 1. Have you tried using an alternative web browser such as Firefox to
see if it will connect with the site? I tested Firefox 1.5.6 and
Internet Explorer 6, and they both are working fine here.
 2. Are you behind any special firewalls, proxy servers, routers, etc?
 3. Have you tried to use the ping tool in XP to ping the BSC server to
see if you have a good packet connection?

I guess that is a start for now.

Re: [Audyssey] bscgames

2006-10-10 Thread Tom Randall
hello Mark.

Thanks for mentioning this problem, this is the first we have heard of
it this week. No one I am aware of is having difficulty connecting to
the BSC Games web sites or posting scores. Please try to connect again
today and drop me a note at [EMAIL PROTECTED] and let me know your
results and I will look into it further if you are still having trouble.
That of course goes for anyone else on this list who is having trouble
with this as well.

Please do not write me about this issue at this address this is my home
address.

Regards,
Tom Randall

Does anyone know why some people are having problems accessing bscgames
website? I have not been able to go there for some time now. This also
means I cannot post scores. Any information will be welcome.

Hi,
No, but if you send us the error you are getting perhaps someone here
can figure it out. It is working fine for me.

Hi Mark,
Hmmm...

PS

Scratch the ping. The server where BSC Games is at blocks pings.

Sorry for posting from this address. I know I promised to post from my
home computer, but I would just like to ask: can anyone give me the
subscribe address to the BSC games list please?
