Hi. I have to assume the people have deleted the files they linked you to, or gave you invalid links. Files placed in dropbox do not expire as they do with the free sendspace accounts. Also there isn't a download cap. I've placed free games in my public dropbox folder for people who couldn't find them, and as far as I know it's worked great. I've used both sendspace and dropbox, and to hear me tell it, I definitely favor dropbox or dorpbox as I call it. I think sendspace probably allows for faster upload speeds. Back on topic a little, did you notice that in mota beta 16, when you select a whip it repeats itself very quickly until you release the number you pressed to select your weapon? And also that weapons seem to wait for the spacebar to be released rather than pressed down? Oh and did you make the easily difficulty more difficult? *grin*. I used to make it to level 2 when I used beta 15, but in this one I die before I even get anywhere close to the second boss. Hi Hayden, Well, as a big Sendspace user with a Max account I can give you lots of reasons why Dropbox is, well, not that good. For one thing with a Sendspace Max account you can download up to 8 GB per day, can store 100 GB of files on your account, use of the Sendspace Wizard, etc. Dropbox doesn't offerly nearly that much. Especially, for a free account. [Audyssey] using the sword in mota beta14
HI Tom and list I experience strange behavior when using the sword.\ I find that the sword does not always work. In level2 of mota beta14, I want to kill the first harpie, but I only hear the sound of the sword now and then. I hit spacebar like crazy but I only hear the sword's sound vary rarely. Is this maybe a bug? Or is something wrong with my system? Hi Nicol, I'm not sure what exactly what is wrong, but it could be one of two things. First, the input system which has already been addressed/fixed in beta 15 as far as I can tell. Second, you are running low on strength and when Angela's strength is low she can't use the sword. In either case hitting the spacebar like crazy won't help you and probably just fill the event queue with a bunch of key presses that need to be processed slowing the game and input system down. I certainly didn't have any trouble with that when I played a little while ago. Of course my adventure came to a rather nasty end when Angela accidentally impaled herself on a spike. I don't know if I just had one of those rare occasions where I forgot to make sure my sword was put away first or just had a bit of bad luck, but that's what happened. The sword is a very useful weapon. I have no trouble using it. The trio of hand-swung weapons works out quite nicely. The whip gives extra range, the sword gives extra power, and the dagger gives speed of attack. I like it. I used to do the same with the original Prince of Persia. In fact once I get more confident with BGT one of my projects is going to be to see if I can create an audio only game in as close to the same style of the original Prince of Persia as possible. That would include the spikes that shoot up from the ground and of course those smashing jaws that would cut you in half if you walked under them at the wrong time. And even back in those days player death sound effects could be quite nasty. Getting killed by one of those jaws was a prime example.
