Hi,
Trying the Pocket Frotz on a Pac Mate. Am using the JAWS cursor to read the
game screen, but my problem is that it's not reading the whole lines often,
it just reads half the line or text on the screen sometimes, it doesn't read
everything, are there some settings I must change to make it
Hi,
I know this sounds like a weird question, but I really don't understand how
to navigate the hints system of the Inform interpreter, although I've played
interactive fiction for ages, I've never understood the instructions, used
up all my hints in one go, can't find the hint I'm wanting for
Hi,
I'm wanting to get back into interactive fiction, but I'm no longer certain
what's the best way to play the wide variety of games out there. Seems to
me there are several different interpreters and such.
I've got JAWS 9 and Windows XP Media Center.
What will I need to set up to play the

Hi Daniel,
Huh? The ESP paused message and music was never in Monty. the paused
message Bryan is talking about is sapi saying paused/unpaused when you
press the pause button or key.
In either case the offending message is gone from the RC1 unstable branch.
Cheers.

Hi Charles,
I also baught LW and Shades of Doom, but not immediately. I must have
had the demo of Shades of Doom for three or four months before I baught
it. Main reason was because I had restricted use of area 1, and it was

Wow! That changed fast.
Just last month we checked out The Code Factory and they were still
advertising games.
In fact, Marketing put them number 6 on their Top 25 Web Sites for Gamers

I just checked and they have gone completely to selling just mobile phone

Seven days seems to be a good demo period.
At least we're getting a decent response now that we've set it at that number.

No kidding. Especially, since I submitted them for review in your

Hi Claudio,
Smile Oh, I already have the Pacman Talks demo. I was joking around
with Phil for the sequel Mrs. Pacman, which he told everyone he was

Hi Lora,
Yes, I'm also getting back into Interactive Fiction as well, I'll try and
give you an overview. Many games take different interpreters. Sorry if I'm
explaining what you already know, but am just not sure how much you've
played Interactive Fiction before. Interpreters open the game
Hi Claudio,
At one time I announced I was working on Ms. Pacman.
Instead of the traditional ghosts, I had four ghost or creatures from the
Harry potter books, Peeves, Myrtle, Nick and Binns chase you around the

Then I added patronis spells that gave you super powers to scare them away.

Hi list,
I am wondering if this is an actual text-based version of the audio game
by Liam. I don't remember exactly where I downloaded it from, but I think
it was the Baf's Guide website.
It's called Superliam.taf. Is this a Tads interpreter based game?
If so, where can I get the Tads
Thomas,
Your information was good. Our collective timing was off.
Interesting about Jim's talking alarm clock.
Dark needed a talking timer recently for his new digs so I coded him Dark
Timer from spare game parts.
Seems just when I think I'm being clever, someone has been clever sooner. Sigh!
to be honest John, that was one of the listings that mildly confused me.
Interesting as a couple of their demos were, i never actually found any way
to perchice their games, sinse you couldn't buy directly from them, and
there was no alternative dealer listed for the uk.

Well John, I didn't know about jim's clock, and all I basically wanted was a
program version of those old kitchen timers where you turn the dile and it
just ticks down the appropriate number of minutes. Dark timer does that very
well indeed, - pluss it's named after me Lol!

Hi Claudio,
Yes, Pacman uses the same game engine as Sarah. All of PCS Games current
titles Sarah, Pacman Talks, and Super Dog Bone Hunt currently use the
GMA Game Engine. That is the same engine that Tank Commander and Shades
of Doom use.

The version of Pacman Talks on the PCS web site and the GMA site is the

their games were slated to be removed soon, and they dropped them

Hi Claudio,
The only thing similar in the Pacman and Sarah games are:
1. both use the GMA game engine so some of the built in functions are used
such as the f1 help menu and the f3, and f4 save and play a saved game keys.
2. The pattern of the halls are square since the engine does not allow

Yes the lack of snoring was reported and has been fixed in the version on my

To get a key costs you money.

What needs to happen is someone with a remote viewing of the pac mate needs
to see if the whole of the game is displayed and, if not, how to zoom in on
it so it is. Also, font size must be very small--but I don't know how to
adjust that with Tads. If you can't do a say all effectively, do two
