you should get the credits after that.

It's a brouser based game. Actually it's a bit like an online
multiplayer

version of smugglers, where each player has a ship.

You can go on missions given to you by npcs, mine ore, carry cargo or
passengers, make items, own a factory or various other things.

Of course, it's the npc missions that interested me personally.

the game uses many images, and indeed has a graphical map which is
extremely unuseable. The images are being labeled however, and there is
a

way around the graphical map using the in built route planner function.

It's free to play, so anyone who's interested is welcome to try it out.

Hi.

I've just started on core exiles from http://www.core-exiles.com/

though it's stil got a lot of in game images, I've found it displays
in

a better way with Ie 8 than 7, and making liberal use of Hal's find
function can be helpful.

It looks fun thus far, I've finished all the starter missions and the
starting combat ones, and am just deciding where to go next and what
to

do. I like the various choice for things in the game, and the way
there's more to do than just muck about with economics, those
npc

missions are travel options are certainly my thing.

I've also found people are pretty decent on the forums as far as
answering questions etc goes.

I like thus far, I just hope there is enough to do in the rest
of

the game before things become too crunch orientated.

Is anyone else playing currently? I'm Darkempathy on there if anyone
wants to look me up.

Beware the Grue!

Cool! I'm looking at buying one of those nifty engines, sinse I ted to be
burning a lot of fuel over there for some reason, which also comes with a
handy big wodge of energy bonus.

Hopefully then I can actually buy a decent gun and not keep getting my rear
kicked in combat, i CAN'T BELIEVE HOW USELESS! MISSILES ARE.

i'M THINKING OF POSSIBLY USING A MINING DRONE AS A STEADY INCOME SOURSE,
SINSE IT CAN RUN WHEN i'M NOT PLAYING. wHILE i DON'T KNOW IF i FANCY MINING
A BIG WAY, It MIGHT BE A USEFUL sideline.

Right now I have a mission to find 5 cobra pirate ships, though I
barely destroyed one, but they're just not showing up on the scanner, which
is a pain.

I'm darkempathy in game if you want to look me up, I've just made level
10, so I must be doing something right, ;D.

Hal seems okay with the player markit, though at the moment I'm trying
to find a way to buy resources in small enough quantities to satisfy
criteria for a mission, sinse the buyer's markit only lets you offer a 100
unit contract, and that'd be overkill.

the player markit also seems to only sell in bulk, which is a pest.

Maybe I'll have to just buy the 100, then see if I can offload 80 units
reasonably, --- though that seems incredibly silly.

I just wish they'd finish labeling images for the items etc, I get rather
sick of having to guess at long http addresses when equipping items to my
ship or mining.

yeah it really rocks now if I could find exact targets for my current mission
where one must kill the 20 raders for mr stubs it actually would rock I have
about 11 so far but I get tired of bashing missions managed to get through em,
but its hard as.
player markets also like to lock jaws 6.2 so I never go there always jos,
I only use cash when upgrading things, never have enough.'
now if only I could get a couple energy packs, I probably could upgrade my
scanning unit maybe get an autorepair system.
for ow thats probably as much as I can afford.
I keep thinking I may want to abort the mission but i have already got 11 ships
so far and so I just slowly go through it.

How big is the galaxy? Big!

There are five galaxies and I believe about 150 star systems with 700 odd
planets, I could be wrong, but all the exact numbers are on the front
page.

I don't believe you can own more than one ship, but you certainly can own
your own factory.

Things are fairly player driven sinse there are items it's impossible to buy
from npcs, and you need to either buy schematics and build them yourself, or
buy them on the player marke, I also believe new schematis may be foujnd by
player research but I'm not certaint. The same goes for the various in game
resources such as mined and refigned ores or factory goods.

You can even build your own settlement, and contract npc shops to come and
work there, which you can then collect tax from.

I'm not sure what you mean by player created missions. Certainly, players
who run factories or setlements or who craft items will want resources, and
may well offer a contract for them.

In terms of combat or hawlage missions, they seem to be npc run, though I
believe there are mlti-player rades on large targits, though I'm not sure
how they work.

To be perfectly honest, there's a lot more to the game than is easily
explainable.

Your best off just trying it out sinse it's absolutely free to play.

Beware the Grue!

Re: [Audyssey] Anyone play core exiles?

2009-10-13 Thread dark
Core exiles actually has quite a lot to distinguish it from the standard
stat crunch games like Ogam etc, particularly in the matter of travel,
player created items and (of personal interest to me), the npc missions.

As I said, it's most like a multiplayer online version of smugglers.

beware the grue!

Hi,

It sounds intresting, so I might give it a try later.

Sounds like metaldamage. A browser based car racing game. Bitefight, a
browser based fighting game, and ogame, a browser based strategy game...
WHere you build stuff like soundrts an d stuff.

www.metaldamage.de
www.ogame.de
www.bitefight.de
You just have to find the english link at the bottom there, and you'll
have the game in english.

the game uses many images, and indeed has a graphical map which is
extremely unuseable. The images are being labeled however, and there is a
way around the graphical map using the in built route planner function.

It's free to play, so anyone who's interested is welcome to try it out.

Hi.

I've just started on core exiles from http://www.core-exiles.com/

though it's stil got a lot of in game images, I've found it displays in
a better way with Ie 8 than 7, and making liberal use of Hal's find
function can be helpful.

It looks fun thus far, I've finished all the starter missions and the
starting combat ones, and am just deciding where to go next and what to
do. I like the various choice for things in the game, and the way
there's more to do than just muck about with economics, those npc
missions are travel options are certainly my thing.

I've also found people are pretty decent on the forums as far as
answering questions etc goes.

I like thus far, I just hope there is enough to do in the rest of
the game before things become too crunch orientated.

Is anyone else playing currently? I'm Darkempathy on there if anyone
wants to look me up.
