Re: [Audyssey] Gma games on chinese Xp
Hi Phil, The problem is that older Visual Basic 6 programs do not have good Unicode support. That means if it runs on a computer using a foreign language like Japanese, Chinese, whatever it will crash because the unicode characters are unsupported by the program. The only solution I can see is to change the settings in Windows to use English when a program is launched with Unicode support. The more long term, better solution, is to rewrite the GMA engine using something like C# or VB .Net with unicode support included. Hi Folks, Here are the steps to get L-works games to work on foreign computers. They might help in running PCS and GMA games that use the GMA game engine. People in certain countries may have a problem with Streemway telling them that the product isn't licensed. This error is caused by non-unicode characters. Here's the best way to solve this problem. go to control panel choose regional settings then choose the advanced tab. in the language for nonunicode programs, choose english united states. then click ok. - Original Message - From: "Steady Goh" To: "Gamers Discussion list" Sent: Monday, July 27, 2009 10:37 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Gma games on chinese Xp Hi Dark, even on English xp if I set my Language for non-Unicode programs to Chinese (prc), I will get the same error.
