The best thing is... there are so many side scrollers that could come out of
this formula.

Hi Michael,
I can say for sure I don't want to dumb the game down or compromise its
challenge factor. In fact, Beta 2 is in its own way more challenging
then beta 1 since I have now made it impossible to crouch down and let
everything and everything miss you. Enemies will hit you if you are in

Tom... I will say this now, before it slips my mind. If this game really
needed a grade, it'd get an A from me, no question. If what I've seen and
played is only a small snipet... then I truly cannot wait.

Hi,
Yeah, sort of feels that way for me as well. Kind of like turning in a
rough draft of a paper only to be told by the teacher to correct this,
change that, improve the other thing, whatever. In a sense fixing bugs,
working on end user suggestions, is like homework since I can't sell the

Sounds like the feeling when I get major school projects. lol.

Hi Dark,
Yeah, it has been something I've wanted to work on for a while, but
never took the time to really look into. However, now that the beta is
out and people are flooding my inbox to do this and that it seams I
should get this done fairly soon as the game needs to have this resolved

Hi,
I'm not saying your idea is a bad one, but I have no plans to add a
sword to sword combat system in MOTA at this time. I love realism as
best as the next guy, but I also have to begin thinking priorities too.
I have pretty much decided June is the cut off date for development on
this game,
why I thought such a dodge system might be workable.
Beware the Grue!
Dark.

Just a thought, but if swords can be used, how about shields?

Hi Dark,
Exactly. Angela is suppose to use adjility and timing to avoid attacks
andnot shields etc.

Hi Dark,
We have plans to upgrade the enemy AI for the game. Hopefully when we
get done you should have more ability to dodge attacks, but on the other
hand remaining in one place for too long, such as crouching, can get you
killed. So we are hoping to get that done fairly soon.

I agree that a dodging maneuver would be nice. Or if the sword was the
weapon equipped there could be a, say, block button or some method of
garding against enemies who use swords or other bladed weapons.
