Re: [Audyssey] DOS for iphone?

2011-05-17 Thread Rynhardt Kruger
Hi,

You can just compile speakup as modules and install it into your allready
running kernel. Just do:

make
make modules_install

Inside of the speakup source tree.

Take care,

Rynhardt

 Hi Zachary,

Thanks for the suggestion. Been a while since I've played around with
Dos EMU. Actually, been a long time since I touched Speakup as well
for that matter as I absolutely hate having to recompile the entire
kernel just to install a screen reader. So I've tended not to mess
with Speakup. Of course there is Vinux, but I don't have that
installed. Just the stock Ubuntu distribution.

Hi Michael,

I've never tried this myself, so this is just a suggestion, but did
you try and see if there is a version of Dos Box for IPhone? Dos Box
is a cross-platform MS Dos emulator, and its really the only way I can
think of to run Dos apps on platforms and devices other than Windows.

Its a shame there is not a fully accessable dos emulator for windows.
I can play dos games with nvda just fine but it uses something called
ntvdm and space bars work but are not spoken and I can delete my mistakes.
Its a shame since I can play my standard frotz and tads games in dos
mode and I like that that way.
