Re: [Audyssey] Help finding games.
Hmm, At the moment, they're not up, but give me a week or so, and I should have my softcon mac pages back and running, where I have all kinds of things for the mac. I've had some trouble with my hosting companies over the last year or so, so not much has happened, plus a backup of the site disappeared on me, so it won't be exactly like it was, but I have a yahtzee game, a mud, some text games, and a couple other things on the softcon mac pages. The url was/will be http://www.softcon.com/mac/ Hope that helps. On 10/14/2016 12:40 PM, Phil Vlasak wrote: Dark, Thanks for the kick in the butt. Re: [Audyssey] Help finding games.
Hi Phil. thanks for the updates, we get asked about games for the mac fairly often so it's good to have a list. I however have a correction. You just mention space encounter from audiogame it. Actually they've produced about eight different games, all for pc, mac or ios, space encounter is just one of them. Games include she noire and the three inquisitor adventure games, audio speed and audio rally racing racing games, Space encounter, and most recently tyhe blind gladiator, (which I'll probably get for Ios myself when it comes out). See http://www.ticonblu.it/audiogame/index.html for details. Also, epicycle's game blindside is available for mac and pc as well as Ios too. see http://www.blindsidegame.com/ This is an action adventure type of game involving a monster appocalypse with gameplay a little like that of pappasangre. hth. Hi Sharon, I've been wanting to make the blind adrenaline card games accessible to Braille readers, but the couple of folks that volunteered to help me with this that had Braille displays flaked out on me. If I could get someone to test it out, I think we could incorporate Braille readers fairly easy, and I know the deaf blind community would certainly appreciate it. I have a suggestion for hard-of-hearing folks like me who have a hard time with surround sound. Maybe there could be a conversion alternative for an action-packed game that could use time reaction challenges instead of knowing directly where the sound is coming from. For example, if a monster is chasing you, you would normally dodge it knowing which way it's headed. Re: [Audyssey] help finding games for deaf/mtion impaired
Hello. Well I should know from first hand what playing as a Deaf-blind gamer is like. For one, the game would have to be able to use the braille display, second it can't be too complex. Mainly due that most deaf blind folks depending on if they ever seen or hear will not hve the clue on the concept of most games. For me, I've seen, and heard in my lifetime which has been short. *grin* I'm only thirty two. Anyhow. I've play games since the commador days up to the 360 xbox. i've even did some basic programming for a time as well. But, ever since I went deaf and lost all my vision, I've had to rely on braille to play games. Only games I've been able to play is Srwith, Kingdom of Loaf and all in play. Not tried Chee card games yet. Far as action goes that would be a hard game to even get a person who never seen or hear in their life to understand. Luckly I have hearing once in a while and found out I wil be able to get those copular implants I might be able to play more sound type games. though I enjoy playing Dominos, paper card games, and several other type hands on games as long as you got good communication with the person your playing it can be fun. But that is just me.. I understand what alot of game terminologys are. So a RPG that is all text that uses the braille display would be your best bet if you are to make a game for anyone to play. I know the VIP that GMA games came out with is not any good for me to play. Mainly cause of the fact you have to type every little thing to do something and no blind deaf person I know of is going to sit there for hours doing that. Hi Chastity. Unfortuantely, the best place for this would've been the game accessibility site, --- but it's no longer working sadly. oneswitch.co.uk I know is basically the audiogames.net for motion impared gamers, but for deaf gamers I have no idea I'm afraid. Does anyone know of any games that are accessible for the deaf like with lots of graphics, colors, and captions? Is there any top 10/20 lists around or archives of such gaming sites? Also does anyone know if there are any games accessible by people with motion impairments like ones where single-switch, head-mouse, eye movements and such can be found? I think, as far as I know most text-based games like RPG and games from the if-archive are accessible by the deaf since those are all text based, but many motion impaired people need to use single-switch mouse or some sort of other device so typing isn't that easy.
