Hi Darren. What do you mean change land tiles? You can just move around with the arrow keys, though obviously hitting various keys will jump you to things on the map. Most of what you need to know is in the tasks menu. Basically assign a worker to do a task like pick apples or build a house, and that worker is taken up until it's done. Each task takes some energy, and you get more energy with food, the harder to produce the food the more energy it gives. Going down to underground view (I think it was ctrl arrows), puts you on the underground map. Here, tyles contain either dirt, or one of a number of things you can harvest like stone, limestone, iron, silver, gems etc. Once you've built a mine you can clear out undeground tyles and start mining, though some ores will require a pickaxe which you need to make iron for. Actually the farms are fine, it is just a question of getting enough farmers and enough peasants to transport your crops around, sinse crops at the farm will do you know good, not to mention food courses like bread which need more production and yet more transport. I'm not sure how to make my pesants work, and wish I could asign them to certain tasks, like so many on tavern duty etc. I have a cook and bar tender, and it tells me both are working, I also have a fisherman a hunter and 2 farmers, so amn't sure what I'm missing. Hi Lori. Peasants tend to stand around when there isn't work to do. Each source of food you can get produced is another energy source for your people. So, if you've only farmed vegitables and hunted or fished meat, your missing out on other jobs. Also, a bar tendeder is only needed if you have wine being produced. I personally always go a rate of one and a quarter farmers per farm, so if you have a grane farm, a vegitable farm and a vinyard, you will need three farmers, but to produce more food just assign another farmer, though make sure you have peasants to transport the produce from the farm to the storehouse, and from the sotrehouse to the tavern. As to dealing with the yetti, well five soldiers are a minimum raid size, but knights are your best bet. I'd always work in mission 2 on getting knights up and running as soon as possible, then soldiers, then if you have time and people to spare for the tayloring rangers, indeed usually I tend to find that the yetti go down rather sooner than I expect. Also remember in Castaways against the yetti, attack can be the best form of defense, sinse the more yetti you can attack in raids and kill, the harder it'll be for them to build up their forces and attack you back, indeed usually I tend to find I destroy the yetti even before I've built many of the buildings. Hi. It's really hard to grow crops in 2. The farms don't yield as much. To send out raiding parties against the yetti, you go to the space where your wartent is. Hit enter and then go through the selections and pick how many of each type of fighter you want to send. Then, send out your raiding party. You may need a butcher to turn hunter kills into meat, or a baker to turn wheat (flour) into bread. Upgrade your soldiers. Standard soldiers are the weakest type of fighter, and they will get massacred by enemy troops. If this is still happening to you, please give this a try. I'm thinking this might be yet another occurrence of the regional settings bug so I'd like to see if my current work will solve the problem. Hi Michael. First, you need to build the storeroom, otherwise there will be no where for fishermen to bring fish, hunters to bring kills lumberjacks to bring logs etc. so, find a place on the map and hit enter on it to bring up the list of buildings and select storehouse. Your peasants will then bring material to the storehouse, and your builders will build it when all the materials needed are there. After you have a storehouse, you can then create fishermen and hunters and they'll get on with their jobs, though also remember to create a tavern and make someone a cook otherwise people will not be able to eat even if there is food at your storehouse (the cook is the most important job). After that you can get on and build other things like farms, saw mill, quarry etc and start gathering building materials, and increasing your population by building houses. hth. Beware the grue! Hi Mike, Yes, you'll need a storehouse before anything else. If you have at least one storehouse any supplies that washed up on the beach or your workers create or find on the island will be braught to the storehouse and stored there until needed.
