if an ebuild uses EAPI 3 it will fail badly, while it isn't too old. A
sane assumption is that EAPI 3 will at least contain all features from
EAPI 2 with very few adjustments to existing syntax and behaviour if at
all.

some live ebuilds occured at least three times.

mask live ebuilds with KEYWORDS=, there isn't a reason
to put them in p.mask that I can think of.
Many users use ** in their p.keywords file and get a live ebuild
then.

will be broken with
such a major release and trying to get the stable tree on par is what
eats a lot of time for us architecture developers...you can ease that
by researching beforehand (with a stable chroot for example).

do anything
stupid if die's are ignored. If there's something that absolutely
has to die, nonfatal or not, then use a variable. I guess that's #4?
