As pk says, the bookmarks are now stored in an sqlite database,
along with browser history. The best way to port them to another
machine is to use the bookmarks manager (ctrl+b) to make a backup
(within the manager, that's Tools » Backup), then use the restore
-bin.

I tryed with/without system-sqlite. Rebuild nss. Nothing helped.

Hmm it should flag up a warning and once you accept it there
shouldn't be a problem

unresponsive when synchronizing the email.
I didn't loose any emails, but that is more likely related to the emails being
stored on an imap server, rather then being lucky.
I really don't see the point of forcing mysql as a backend. Sqlite would have
been a better choice.

You will find over 20,000 registry entries left behind.
If you want to store a lot of stuff, then databases are a valid solution. If
there's something wrong with sqlite or BerkeleyDB then argue against them, but
don't base your objections on a strawman.
I agree that a binary db
could do with
ease). At the time I blamed sqlite as the cause of this, but I may have
been wrong if you are also observing the same.
More recently (c. 2013/4) I tried again to setup Kmail2, but using IMAP4
and mysql. Small IMAP4 accounts with a couple of thousand messages work
fine. Large IMAP4
I didn't really care.
Backups are good. Putting all of the config and bookmarks in version
control would be even better, except Firefox uses a pretty awesome
combination of sqlite, JSON, JavaScript, and text for storing
configuration and bookmarks, so of course that would be a nightmare

We have a cluster of identical machines. Exporting over NFS works
just fine, though we exported not only /usr/portage,
but /usr/local/portage, /var/lib/layman and /va
