Yes. Is there a problem? Do you want some projects swapped? You need to
assign a mentor for:

Hey all,
Thanks on behalf of the students for doing this work.
This is not to give any opinion since I'm not pitching in but rather
merely to warn you all about associated work which may influence the
student's or your choice of projects.
Your top proposal is to work on mosaic/pyramid which is
Ciao Jody,
The H2 thing has been mentioned by Chris as a GeoServer project, hence
I left it out.
About the KML reader for GeoTools, it seems that the guy has already
been assigned a mentor for another project, hence I would recommend to
check on this before assigning a slot to him.

You missed the one about a spatial extension for h2
There is also a KML for uDig project that Jesse has volunteered to
mentor (so perhaps the KML reader for GeoTools one will not be needed?).

Ciao guys,
I am listing here below the GSOC project listed on the OSGEO website
which are related to geotools.
I have put potential mentors right below each one of them. Some of
the, shows no mentors yet, hence someone might want to step up.

Ciao Christian,
a few more info:
- you can look on the freenode gsoc channel to ask general questions
about the program itself
- I have update the wiki with important dates
- I am asking more info on the OSGEO channel about steps to take.

Ciao Christian,
I would first of all add your idea along with some details to the page
you mention below here. I am checking what are the next steps, I will
get back to you shortly.
Me and daniele would like to be your mentors on this, hence it would
not be bad I think to talk a bit in more details
I hope I am not to late but I want to make a proposal for summer of code
2008
I would like to contribute an image pyramid/mosaic plugin for JDBC, storing
georeferenced tiles in a relational database.
The architectue of the plugin is multithreaded to beneifit from

Hello,
I updated the 3D Renderer wiki page with a note about some of my
conclusions / learnings:
http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOTOOLS/3D+Rendering+Pipeline+for+GeoTools
In short, the approach of rendering a textured version of the 2D map
on the ground plane of the 3D map is somewhat problema
Hey all,
I presume FOSS4G will have some of this wrapup discussion.
I wonder if someone involved in the project would be willing to update:

at least the table with a 'Status' (funded/rejected/failed) or a
'conclusion' column. Also I imag

Tough call ...
Jesse was unable to mentor the option D, I am more keen to work with the
student for option C as well.

Thanks for organizing everyone Cory.

Hey guys,
As per the discussions on the OSGeo [SoC] list, we need to come to some
sort of agreement as to the rankings of the Geotools applications within
the next day or so. These are:
A) New Transformation Algorithms for GeoTools and uDig
B) Plugins for multidimensional raster data sources
