[Geotools-devel] Upgrading to ImageIO-Ext 1.1.x

2011-04-15 Thread Daniele Romagnoli
Hi all, I'm finishing some tasks in preparing the ImageIO-Ext 1.1.x upgrade which leverages on GDAL 1.7.3 (I have created a 1.1-RC1 release) I will update the GeoTools Trunk to that version in the next hours. The related JIRA is this one: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOT-3518 The ImageIO-ext

I will need a new JRE for uDig for this one? We keep uDig trunk on geotools trunk ... so "yes" I think that would make moovida very happy. Let me check with the udig list; it may take a bit of time as moovida is travelling. -- Jody Garnett On Friday, 15 April 2011 at 5:37 PM, Daniele Romagnol

Daniele I will need more than a couple hours warning for changes of this sort; it does involve doing a fair amount of work to assemble jre bundles for use in the uDig release process etc. Q: Does it fail gracefully? ie will geotools continue to function and just report those formats as "not ava

Hi Daniele; I had an idea in talking with Andrea on IRC. uDig right now is pulling 2.8-SNAPSHOT; that means you could safely update trunk (as trunk is 8-SNAPSHOT). So in this case we are "saved by the bell", you can go ahead with your change. In the future though it would be good to communicate

Hi Daniele, thanks a lot for your quick answer. I am contributing to the Enterprise Linux GIS effort: http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Enterprise_Linux_GIS and we recently upgraded to GDAL 1.8.0. In the near future we want to add support for Java GIS (imageio-ext => GeoTools => GeoServer etc.), hence
