I made some updates and bug fixes to the GeoTIFF trunk package and now it works well both for reading and writing and should not break the GeoTools build anymore.
I would like to commit the changes if the module mantainers agree, but I don't want to cause a build break and waste your ti
Don't warry, it's my fault I need the beam package dependancy on the referencing package.
I'll fix the problem.

looking at the LiteRenderer/GridCoverageRenderer code I noticed that the latter doesn't take care of the possible difference between the coverage CRS and the renderer/display CRS.

1) The projection of the grid from the native CRS to the displayCRS (choosen by the User): it was not possible to render coverages other then EPSG:4326

2. Based on GeoTools 2.2.x
3. Using epsg-hsql instead of epsg-wkt
4. Removed JAI OS dependancy. The Operations are now registered during the GeoServer Servlet init phase
