creating a 32 bit .bmp file in 2.8.4 is not invalid.
The file cannot be read by previous gimp or other programs.
Is there still a lack of windows developers? (this is on win32)

Hey,
I wonder if it would be a good thing to do a Kickstarter type of
campaign, to raise money to hire a developer to work on integrating
the GIMP with Microsoft platforms, or to put bounties on solutions
for specific bugs/issues?
There's a LOT of GIMP users running Microsoft operating systems

how can I draw in GIMP freehanded curved
interrupted lines (dotted; dot-dash-dot; dash-dash;...) ?
To create lines first with a pencil and to use then the rubber
gives uneven and so unsatisfactory results.

I guess you want to draw them freehanded as in just like the
paintbrush tool.
If you want to do dotted lines (as opposed to dashed ones), you can
quite easily use the

Do you have any sample files that exhibit the behavior? I just tried
exporting some BMPs from my win32 GIMP 2.8.4 and found absolutely no
problems. I didn't even have to set do not write colorspace
information like I did the last time
