This is a known issue with the 2.10.2 installer - you can manually workaround it by moving all the .debug files to .debug subfolder (or you can download https://eternallybored.org/misc/gimp/gimp-2.10.2-setup-1.exe which fixes this problem). -- < Jernej Simončič ><><><><>< http://eternallybored.org/ > ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list
[Gimp-user] Errors when installing Debug Symbols
I just installing GIMP 2.10.2 and selected to install the "Debug Symbols" as well hoping it would help diagnose any future crashes but when I went to launch GIMP, I just got an error window saying "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc005). Click OK to close the application." I click OK, and another one comes up. Looking at the title of the error windows, it seems to be trying to load the various plugin files but with a ".debug" extension. So for example, "blur.exe.debug," or "colorify.exe.debug." I can hold the enter key to select OK for all of them and GIMP will launch but I have to do that every time GIMP loads. I'm not sure if I'm missing some sort of files or if this is just a bug in the Windows version. Uninstalling and reinstalling without selecting to install the debug symbols fixes the issue. Just thought I'd mention it to potentially help anyone having the same issue. -- Thank you for your time, Kasim Ahmic ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list

What usually work is renaming your profile, to make Gimp recreate one the next time it starts. After checking that everthing works, you can then copy add-ons and such from your old profile to the new one. [Gimp-user] Errors on "sudo make install" step of compiling gtk+ version 3.4.3
Hi, I'm trying to compile GIMP 2.8 and all of its friends in /opt/gimp-2.8/ on Ubuntu 10.04. I'm having difficulty with the "sudo make install" step of compiling gtk+ version 3.4.3 (a GIMP dependency). The "./configure" and "make" steps (of GTK) seem to run OK, but "sudo make install" ends with the following: if test -n "org.gtk.Settings.FileChooser.gschema.xml org.gtk.Settings.ColorChooser.gschema.xml"; then \ test -z "/opt/gimp-2.8/share/glib-2.0/schemas" || /bin/mkdir -p "/opt/gimp-2.8/share/glib-2.0/schemas"; \ /usr/bin/install -c -m 644 org.gtk.Settings.FileChooser.gschema.xml org.gtk.Settings.ColorChooser.gschema.xml "/opt/gimp-2.8/share/glib-2.0/schemas"; \ test -n "" || glib-compile-schemas /opt/gimp-2.8/share/glib-2.0/schemas; \ fi /bin/bash: line 3: glib-compile-schemas: command not found make[4]: *** [install-gsettings-schemas] Error 127 make[4]: Leaving directory `/home/rahl/gimp-compile/gtk+-3.4.3/gtk' make[3]: *** [install-am] Error 2 make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/rahl/gimp-compile/gtk+-3.4.3/gtk' make[2]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/rahl/gimp-compile/gtk+-3.4.3/gtk' make[1]: *** [install] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/rahl/gimp-compile/gtk+-3.4.3/gtk' make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1 It says "glib-compile-schemas: command not found". Is that the issue that's creating all the rest of the errors? I compiled glib-2.32.1 from source and placed it in /opt/gimp-2.8/. It must have found glib there because it didn't complain about the version at configure or compile time, but maybe its trying to use the system's glib at install time for some reason? My configure options for GTK+ were: rahl@ubuntu:~/gimp-compile/gtk+-3.4.3$ export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/opt/gimp-2.8/lib/pkgconfig rahl@ubuntu:~/gimp-compile/gtk+-3.4.3$ export PATH=/opt/gimp-2.8/bin:$PATH rahl@ubuntu:~/gimp-compile/gtk+-3.4.3$ export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/gimp-2.8/lib rahl@ubuntu:~/gimp-compile/gtk+-3.4.3$ CPPFLAGS="-I/opt/gimp-2.8/include" rahl@ubuntu:~/gimp-compile/gtk+-3.4.3$ LDFLAGS="-L/opt/gimp-2.8/lib" rahl@ubuntu:~/gimp-compile/gtk+-3.4.3$ export CPPFLAGS LDFLAGS ./configure --prefix=/opt/gimp-2.8 LDFLAGS="-L/opt/gimp-2.8/lib" CPPFLAGS="-I/opt/gimp-2.8/include" Any suggestions on what to try?
