I've used the GIMP for several years and I'm trying to repeat a
technique I'm sure I used to be able to do. Often in a photo, I want to
select an area and gaussian blur it to reduce noise (for example select
the sky and clean up the CCD noise).

Hello. How do I move the white point in GIMP? All three photos below
were taken with the camera. How could I reproduce the photo 3 from
photos 1 and 2 in GIMP? That is, assume I don't have the photo 3 below
but I want something close.

When I change an image in Gimp I cannot write down the
changed image
The message is: Access denied.
How to operate to avoid that message?

Linux Gimp has a very useful screen capture function under the
"acquire" menu. It seems to be separate and apart from
kcapture---at least the interface is different.
Is there a comparable screen capture capablity on Gimp for
MSWindows?

In Gimp 2.2.11 for windows there is an aquire option under the file
menu with several sub-options under that.
You can also hit the Print Screen button and then do a paste.
