[Gimp-user] gegl 0.0 file reloading

2011-01-15 Thread Pax294
After upgrading my Gimp to 2.6.11 I've noticed that a 'gegl 0.0' file is
created in mm 'My Documents' folder. After I delete it it reappears after I
reload gimp. Does anyone know of a fix for this problem?

Using XP SP3

You are correct and my apologies for incorrect information.

I have commands in .bashrc that I invoke when I want to build a
particular gimp, eg;

gimpgtk(){
export PATH=/gimpgtk18/bin:$PATH && export
PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/gimpgtk18/lib/pkgconfig && export
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/gimpgtk18/lib/ echo "PATH is now" echo "$PATH"
echo "PKG_CONFIG_PATH is $PKG_CONFIG_PATH "
echo "LD_LIBRARY_PATH is $LD_LIBRARY_PATH "
}

Non thinking cut and pasting

Shouldn't these be

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/lib
PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/opt/lib/pkgconfig
PATH=/opt/bin:$PATH

I have gimp 2.2.13 installed on my system, in /usr/bin/gimp. My
distribution is Scientific Linux 5.5, i.e. a version of Redhat Enterprise
5.

I'm trying to build gimp in /usr/local. I successfully installed the babl
libraries in /usr/local/lib/babl-0.0. The next step, before compiling gimp
itself, is to install gegl. The configure script for gegl runs
successfully (after I inserted the correct path in PKG_CONFIG_PATH), but
the compilation fails with the errors in my original posting.

Hi,

You don't say so can you tell;

Do you already have a gimp installed on you linux computer?
If so what version is it?

Where are you trying to build gimp, ie --PREFIX=?

If the prefix is /opt, then have you set the paths to /opt, ie
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt
PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/opt
PATH=/opt:$PATH

Perhaps tell us what your distro is?

[Gimp-user] GEGL crashes Gimp 2.6.6 on XP

2009-08-04 Thread photocomix
I didn't have problem to use GEGL operation with a self compiled gimp 2.6.6
(build following the Gimp-wiki tut ,BTW thank to whoever update that page)

Instead Crash occurred always with a previous versio nof Gimp 2.6.6
installed using the official installer.

this on Win XP updated to SP3

No problems even with my previous version of Gimp 2.6.5

(note : i do not consider " problems" rare occasional crashes when
experimenting unknown functions with random setting.
But i had no any problem using Gegl operations in a more reasonable way)

This is what I tried.

I used to have 2.6.6 on Win XP SP3 and had the same crash happen everytime. I
have 2.6.5 installed now but still have 2.6.6 portable on a USB stick.
I removed load-buffer.dll from the gegl folder but the crash still happens.

I double boot Vista but never use it so it's not up to date. When I checked
what version it is it said Vista Ultimate. Didn't say anything about a service
pack.

Anyway, tried the same with 2.6.6 portable on Vista and still crashes. But
only when there is an image open.

Just double checked and on XP the crash only happens when there is an image
open too. And this is with load-buffer.dll back in its place.

Dear Martin
thanks for your tip.
Regrettably, it doesn't work. I tried it on two computers:
1. Intel-based system with 965 Intel graphic chipset family, XP Prof, SP3
and
2. AMD-based system with NVidia 8400 graphics card, Media Center 2005 (like
XP Prof), SP3

Only on the AMD-system it provides an error-message (not from GIMP but from
MS): ModName msvcrt.dll, ModVer: 7.0.2600.5512. This file was changed by SP3
(!), but there were files from MAGIX and Nero with the same name, but in other
directories.

I hope, it helps a little bit.

Wolfgang

Re: [Gimp-user] GEGL crashes Gimp 2.6.6 on XP

2009-07-23 Thread Martin Nordholts
With some help from Jernej I have now been able too look into this
problem. It would be of great help if people with crashes when doing:

  1. Start GIMP
  2. Create new default image
  3. Tools -> GEGL Operation...

could try to move

  C:\Program Files (x86)\GIMP-2.0\lib\gegl-0.0\load-buffer.dll

into a temporary dir, just so that GEGL does not pick up load-buffer.dll
when starting.

On my tests on Vista SP2, removing this GEGL operation from the
operations GEGL loads gets rid of this particular crash, and I suspect
this will get rid of this particular crash on XP systems as well.

If anyone is able to confirm that removing/moving load-buffer.dll fixes
the above crash, please let me know and report what version of Windows
you are using.

  Thanks,
  Martin

Thanks for the info. I can use everything else and was looking to explore the
GEGL operations.
I will wait for the next build.

Please note that this does mean that - to my knowledge - no one is working to

GIMP 2.6.6 has had really bad stability on Windows and no one knows why.
Hopefully it will disappear as quickly in 2.6.7 as it appeared in 2.6.6.

Most of the bug reports have not been about GEGL crashing though but the
color tools, there have been a lot of duplicates of this bug:

[Gimp-user] GEGL crashes Gimp 2.6.6 on XP

2009-07-15 Thread John
Using Gimp 2.6.6 on XP SP3 and all current updates.
When attempting at open the GEGL dialog, Gimp crashes.
Anything else that I try works just fine (so far).
Is this known? Is there a work around?
Gimp 2.6.4 did not crash.

Looks like we forgot to backport a change from trunk to gimp-2-6 then. I
will do that now, so this should be fixed in 2.6.5.

That was not the entire stack trace was it? Make sure you have debugging
information in the binary, i.e. make sure the -g flag is passed to gcc.

Another thing that is interesting is what your output of 'ldd gimp' is.
Does it only link against libraries you expect it to?

The problem is unlikely to be in GLib, it's just that GLib is used to
output the errors.

Please install debugging symbols and run with --g-fatal-warnings and
report back with a stack trace of exactly where things are reported to

The error messages I get are showing clearly a problem with glib, I

No, they are simply not there. It is not the size of the dialog the
problem.

The tool is experimental so it might panic every once in a while.

Don't you literally get any settings widget all all, for any operation
you choose? Maybe you get them but the window does not resize it self to
allow them to be showed? (there have been problems with that)

[Gimp-user] gegl operation dialog box is missing the sliders

2009-01-22 Thread peter kostov
Hi :)

I am having this problem - when I slect "Gegl Operation" the Gegl
operation toolbox appears as normal, but when I select anything from the
drop list with operations the sliders and check boxes for inputting
settings are missing.

I am on Gentoo with kernel 2.6.25-gentoo-r8;
gcc version 4.1.2 (Gentoo 4.1.2 p1.1)
GNU Image Manipulation Program version 2.6.4
using GEGL version 0.0.22 (compiled against version 0.0.22)
using GLib version 2.18.4 (compiled against version 2.18.4)
using GTK+ version 2.14.5 (compiled against version 2.14.5)
using Pango version 1.20.5 (compiled against version 1.20.5)
using Fontconfig version 2.6.0 (compiled against version 2.6.0)

Additionally I am getting these warnings on the console:

(gimp:15357): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: type name
`GimpGeglTool-gegl:box-blur-config' contains invalid characters

(gimp:15357): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_type_add_interface_static:
assertion `G_TYPE_IS_INSTANTIATABLE (instance_type)' failed

(gimp:15357): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_new: assertion
`G_TYPE_IS_OBJECT (object_type)' failed

I didn't find anything related on google so I don't know if this is a
known problem.

Any help is appreciated :)

Greetings,
Peter Kostov

If and when "it" will happen depends on the amount of contributions.
At the moment GEGL development is rather slow.

[Gimp-user] gegl query

it would be nice. btw, how far is the gegl development? when we can
expect gegl based release of gimp to be made? 2005?
I have been working on the pixel access stuff, some ICC colorspace
classes using lcms, and some swap stuff. That should be done in a few
weeks. The node stuff (of which there is aready a good chuck of it in
CVS) will be done some months after that. It all depends on my (and
calvins) free time of course (unless someone wants to pay me ;-)).

gegl introduction is slated to begin with the next developers version
after 2.0, though we have not set any dates as to when that will lead to
 new features nor have we decided how this will proceed.

Hopefully it won't be that long to a next stable release of gimp. It
would be nice to see it in 2004 (albeit late 2004).
