Hi Folks,
On my Fedora system I installed the gnucash-docs package: "yum install
gnucash-docs", and that did exactly what you'd expect. When I tried to read any
of them, I got nothing. The reason is my system was configured to use the "KDE
Help Center" application
I am running Fedora. I tried the naive approach: "yum install gnucash-docs"
which installed gnucash--5.8-1.fc40.noarch. I see lots of docs in
/usr/share/help//gnucash-[guide|manual], where =
"de","ja","pt","zh", & "C". "C"

Unfortunately the transactions created via Scheduled Transactions are
indistinguishable from regular transactions. There's no way to search for
them specifically*.
*However you could run a Transaction Report, select all accounts, like
start and end dates as "today", and set the General>Date Filter
Perhaps you should just close without saving and re-open your file which
will re-run your scheduled txns ?

Just another thought on this: when I transitioned from Quicken to GnuCash,
I just started fresh with GnuCash; on the "transition date", I used the
current Quicken account balances, and then started from GnuCash. My theory
was that if I really needed some information or needed to look up

Well technically should be recorded when delivered, with delivered
meaning "constructively d

AFAIK the reconcile "R" column has three settings ,"n","c","y". If you
manually record a transaction it should be set at "n". The "c" setting
indicates that a transaction has been cleared and can be set to this
when for example the money either appears in your account or when it
has been ta
I like to record my checks written on the day they were written, not cashed,
but am frustrated that then I cannot check when they cleared! Float is nice,
especially if you get interest, but not something I bank on! :D Similarly,
one bank puts a 3 day hold on transfers, so the money goes out o
then debit your cheque account. The amounts
should match.
What is more appropraite will depend on your reporting requirements and
taxation legislation. This is where you need your local accountant.

Aha! I was careless and I put the reports file in the books subdirectory

I used Quicken, not QB, but I also became fed up with Quicken and Intuit
that I changed to GnuCash and haven't missed it a bit.
I really like GnuCash -- but the reports are not as out-of-the-box as they
are with Quicken; you usually have to tweak things to get them to work. I
