Why don't you make the column wider? Your description column is HUGE. Try double-clicking on the "Bil" header to make it wider -- or grab the right side and drag to the right --- and then reduce the description column. I believe that is the "Billable?" column, which says that the line-item is

Just to be clear, you Process Payment separately from posting. (there is an option to Pay on posting, but you still enter it separately) It is in the Process Payment dialog that you choose the Transfer Account as Credit Card, *not* when you post - that should be to AP. You can certainly have

I forgot to mention, there is an option when posting Bills to 'consolidate splits'. If you do so, the AP entries will be rather simple. The only way to see line-item detail in that case, would be to view the invoice. This may be fine for your use case. If however, you want to easily do
