Just a few seconds after 1401UTC, a dead carrier popped up on UTwente SDR.
I could see the carrier on the waterall. I thought THIS was Oman, they
usually sign on with a dead carrier and have the audio come up a few
seconds later while the mystery chinese carrier comes up with audio
already,

Ruh-roh scooby, I think Radio Sultanate Of Oman is having problems with
it's 15140khz transmitter at Thumrait, Oman.
I've noticed two in the last 2 weeks.
One: Oman is signing off earlier on 15140 then it should. It's supposed to
be on till 2100UTC, but often after AIR signs off at 1715UTC and

Everything is fine now. I originally tried updating firmware with a SanDisk
USB Drive but I think it was corrupt. Got a new usb drive at my local CVS
and the firmware updated fine and the radio booted up.

I should also add whenever the english was on at 1400UTC and arabic would
come on at 1500, I cant say I ever noticed a carrier drop to change beam
azimuth, but that doesnt mean it didn't happen, I could've missed it.

Holy moly, I think we are in the second apocalypse or something. For the
second day in less then a week, Radio Cairo in English has decent
modulation and decent audio quality .. and this time english is on the
right frequency of 9800khz, instead of 9895khz where it was the other day

Radio Cairo goofed yesterday. Ther 9895khz/2000UTC broadcast is supposed to
be French, but it was English... and modulation was OK and audio quality
was distorted but "fair"..best I've heard from them in just about ever.
