There was a power failure in my neighborhood this morning
which started at 1030 UTC (Probably maintenance?), so I got
up and did some DC DXing on my NRD545. Heard the following
toughies usually for me:
Peru, 4866.63, Radio Virgen Del Carmen, 1117-1130 Noted
mainly Huaynos music with
Indonesia, 3325, RRI Palangkarya, 1100-1200 Indonesian
comments by a woman and man. At 1200 news given by a man.
Noticed Tsumani mentioned often. Signal was poor(Chuck

Indonesia, 3266.39, RRI Gorontalo, 1214-1220 Basically just
indonesian comments by a man and
Germany, 6045, Evangeliums Radio Hamburg, (pres), 1003-1015
Noted a man in steady German comments. Couldn't tell if he
was speaking of religion or just secular stuff. Religious
singing at 1011. According to the PTWBR, this is on the air
on Sundays only. Signal was fair, but there was a
Suriname, 4990, Radio Apintie,(pres) 0130-0312 Not much
talking tonight. From 0130 until 0200 program consisted of
religious type music i.e. Rock of Ages. At 0200 more
music, but this time it seemed to be African Hilife type
music which threw me for a loop? I didn't expect to hear
that from
Papua New Guinea, 4960, Catholic Radio New Guinea (CRN),
1200-1235 Noted comments by both a man and woman in between
singing. On the halfhour there seemed to be a break when
possibly news or long comments presented. Signal was always
threshold, but seemed to improve slightly at 1222.
Suriname, 4990, Radio Apintie, 1021-1039 Noted a man in
possibly religious comments with simular music off and on.

Peru, 5939.27, Radio Melodia, 1040-1050, Noted two men in
Spanish comments. At 1046, heard a couple
Peru, 4855.74, Radio La Hora, 1030-1040 Noted a woman in
steady Spanish comments with many mentions of localities in
Peru i.e. Lima. At 1040 she gives TC, while this is
followed by ID. This signal was at a fair level, but it

Indonesian, 4605, RRI Serui, Tentative, 1015-1101 Noted a
Christian Church service with Man Preaching in Language(?)
and congregation singing Christian Hymns. The religious
program continued the entire hour. I was reluctant to
report this in the event that I was copying a harmonic or
spur.
Indonesia, 4790, RRI Fak Fak, 1110-1150 between 1110 and
1130 noted a woman in comments between tunes, but after the
half hour just steady music. Signal was fair here in

presents news until 0030 when music continues. Signal is

brief music and a few English words before sign off at 0356.

Hi all,
Last evening at sundown, we had a power outage. I took that
opportunity to hookup my NRD545 to my power pack and briefly
see what I could hear without local line noise. Here's a
couple of the stations:
China, 4620, Nei Menggu Radio, 2243-2300 mainly a woman in
Chinese comments. The
China, 4820, Peoples Broadcasting Station, Lhasa, 1126-1135
Noted a man and woman in Chinese comments with an
occasional musical bridge. Signal is fair in Clewiston.

since signal was threshold. Signal went off at 0200 exactly
as per the posted schedule for Radio Liberty on this freq at

comments using a vernacular language. This followed with a
long period of Bolivian music. At 0940 the signal improved
slightly. According to GeoClock, the grayline or zone, was
just passing over La Paz at that time. Signal was fair.
Peru, 4955, Radio Cultural Amauta, 0936-0950 Noted a man in
Vernacular comments until 0938 when a woman speaks briefly
with ID, then into traditional music with a man hosting the
program. Entire period was in a vernacular of either
Quechua or Aymara. Heard Lima as well as Cultural Amuata
China, 9660, Radio Exterior De Espana, 1040-1050 Noted a
woman in SP comments giving ID as, Radio Exterior De
Espana. She's join by a man and they converse together.
This freq is designated as a relay from Beijing, China in
the WRTH. Signal was muffled and distorted due to long path
Myanmar, 5040.40, Myanmar Broadcasting System (pres)
1110-1130 Noted music(w/whistles or flutes?)with occasional
comments from a woman in Asian Language(?). Music changes to
singing at 1116. At 1120 or so, woman in news or a feature
with long comments. At 1130, back to music. Checked both
I have a pretty decent signal from Radio Melodia at this
time (2314 UTC) on 5939.40 KHz, if anyone wants to log it?

two man in news and comments in French Language. Parallel
on 15385 KHz with better signal. 6155 KHz was fair. Don't
know if 6155 KHz is being broadcasted directly from Spain or
possibly a relay from their transmitter in Costa Rica.
Stayed with this unident until 0950. At 0934, heard
comments from a man. Couldn't ID language. By 0940 the
signal had faded to almost nil with only a slight trace of
the carrier present.

Just an after thought
I erected an inverted vee yesterday,
Peru, 6020.34, Radio Victoria, 2338-2348, Seemed like at
initial tune in, the comments being made were concerning
sports with a number of mentions of Lima. At 2342, ADS
present. At 2344 TC followed by ID. Signal was good, but

was poor until about 1025 when it started to pick up a

and man. Then a introductory prayer by a man. At about
0956, Huaynos music started and continued unabated until

Spanish comments until about 1009, then Huaynos music
presented. This frequency is very difficult to hear due to
the interference from Cuba on 5025 KHz. However, there are
moments when Radio Horizonte fades in and covers Cuba's

service with singing and Spanish Rel comments from a woman.
