Subject: CORRECTION - Voice of Mongolia actually heard on 12084.87 kHz.

Thanks very much to Glenn, for noticing my strange posting. I had the wrong
frequency for the Voice of Mongolia.
I definitely heard them on 12084.87, NOT 12014.87. Very sorry for my
mistake!

Corrected log:
Even over here on the California coast, I have recently been enjoying some
fairly decent reception of the Voice of Mongolia
(12084.87). Heard 1040 to sign off at 1100 UT, on March 17; in Japanese,
with some very nice Asian instrumental music;
not great reception, but not too bad, even with CODAR QRM. My audio of one
minute of music, followed by the sign off ID

(fairly clear "Voice of Mongolia" and Website) at

[HCDX] Correction bcdx #1350

2018-07-25 Thread Wolfgang Bueschel

JAPAN Radio NIKKEI will reduce the frequencies after October 2018.

Radio NIKKEI announced in their HP

that they will reduce the frequencies after October 1, 2018, for the
stability and effectiveness of the management.

They say the diffusion of internet listening by PCs or portable phones
on is another reason.

The schedule after October 1 is as follows:

1st program
2200-1500 6055 (Nagara transmitter site JOZ2 50 kW)
2200-2300 0800-1500 3925 (Nemuro transmitter site JOZ4 10 kW)

2nd program on weekdays <<<
2300-1000 6115 (Nagara JOZ6 50 kW)
1000-1400 3945 (Nagara JOZ5 10 kW) <<<

2nd program on Saturdays and Sundays <<<
2300-0900 6115 (Nagara JOZ6 50 kW) <<<

9595 kHz (Nagara JOZ3 50kW) will be out of service but will be preserved
for emergency use.

9760 kHz (Nagara JOZ7 50 kW) and 3925 kHz (Nagara JOZ 50 kW)
will be discontinued.

Transmitters in Nagara site are all NEC HFB-7847,
installed in 1980-82 except JOZ5 (NEC HFB-7840D) in 1991.

Transmitter in Nemuro site (JOZ4 3925 kHz) is NEC HFB-7840C
installed in 1996.

[HCDX] CORRECTION: trans-oceanic logs + some Latin goodies

2009-01-31 Thread aurel chiochiu

- Original Message -
From: Bogdan chiochiu
To: a...@yahoogroups.com
Sent: Saturday, January 31, 2009 4:28 PM
Subject: trans-oceanic logs + some Latin goodies

Warm greetings to all of you !

I'm quite buzy, but not as much as I thought, as I did loose my work (the
Colombian person to whom I taught French has to leave for her native country
tomorrow at 6AM because some member of her family were trapped by some
narcotraficos), so instead of preparing pedagocial French-Spanish list of
obscure verbs and other kind of stuff, I have time, this afternoon, to send in
my latest logs. The TA condx on longwave and EVEN mediumwave has dramatically
improven over the past 2 days, probably the best I ever saw, since I own the
PK's Shielded Magnetic longwave loop and on MW they were also quite
spectacular, though much short-lived than on MW. The MW TA opening I attended
did last from about 0130 to 0200 UTC with almost readable audio on 603 (with
the same woman voice as on 585 !) and for a few seconds, I could dodge 621 from
the 620 WVMT megapest in Burlington, VT even though nulling out WVMT favors
Belgium instead of the much more commun Canary Islands. By the way, is RTBF La
Première from Wavre still on 621 kHz ? The only null on WVMT I can achieve yet
is ENE / WSW, not ESE (east-south-east), so nulling WVMT does not favor much
the fairly weak Canary Islands TA signal. Also unusual was that 621 was up with
man talk trying to break through semi-nulled WVMT-620 even when much more
commun Madrid-585 wasn't making the TA trip.

Tonight, I'll likely not have enough time for DXing, because of my lovely frail
girlfriend, but condx would likely get even better. So be on the lockout for
some spectacular high-latitude east-west conditions on both longwave
and...mediumwave, yes - MW !

Pan-American DX was rather decent Thursday night and way below average the
other night, though late Monday night, the Bahía de Honda 1 kW sneaked through
WIP-610 Philadelphia for the only noteworthy foreign LW-MW DX of that day.
Thursday night, what was unusual, was YVKE-550 which is the strongest most
commun Venezuelan in the Montreal area after YVKS-750 and YVNM-780 was good and
YVKS-750 was huge, but YVNM-780 was absent, so the opening was toward the
Caracas area of Distrito Federal with nothing out of Coro, yet Barranquilla-760
was noted in passing at a quite nice level strength.

Into the logs:

Trans-Atlantic DX

162 FRANCE France Inter, Allouis JAN 31 0610 - Woman in French noted at a
poor level, though not representative at all of the REST OF THE LOGS (see
below) ! (Chiochiu-QC)

171 MOROCCO Medi Un, Nador JAN 31 0130 - SINPO 24333 - a Middle Eastern pop
tune, then a special request for the Por Ella salsa number of Victor Manuel
which was followed by Tous les cris, les SOS of Daniel Balavoine, someone who
sadly passed away while travelling for the Paris-Dakar contest in January of
1986. Seems like Morocco is the third spot after Russia and Japan for
non-English foreign music on the planet ! French Caribbean zouk is also VERY
popular in Morocco ! After the Daniel Balavoine recorded, heard raï vocals
back-to-back ! Around 0230 UTC, they played an Amadou et Mariam track, so
Morocco seems highly devoted to World Music and foreign cultures ! Fair at this
time, but the best was yet to come ! +JAN 31 0415 - Spanish romantic ballad,
then Celine Dion, Robbie Williams, then Arabic rhythmic contemporary vocals.
Huge ! Peaking S6 out of S7 on the Sangean CST-818's reading meter ! Probably
my best-ever reception of Morocco-171 yet. SINPO 44544 (Chiochiu-QC)

177 GERMANY Deutschlandradio Kultur, Oranienburg, Zehlendorf JAN 30 0359 -
noted with time pips as I tuned around. Poor-fair ! Second time here, relog !
(Chiochiu-QC)

183 GERMANY Europe 1, Felsberg (Saarlouis) JAN 31 0520 - Excellent level,
almost local-like, with lengthy newscast. One of the items was about the strike
of workers in Guadeloupe. Terrific SINPO ! SINPO 5 with barely noticeable
splatter from Iceland-189 ! Best ever reception of Europe 1 for me ! Of all the
4 French stations (France Inter, Europe 1, RMC Info and RTL), Europe 1 is
always the most reliable one, good enough even for a non-DXer to enjoy !
(Chiochiu-QC)

189 ICELAND RUV, Gufuskalar JAN 31 0615 - at this time, switched from
International pops to classical piano music, then later, as I felt asleep, I
was told Icelandic talk was coming out of the bedroom ! Very good !
(Chiochiu-QC)

198 ENGLAND BBC Radio 4, Droitwich JAN 31 0526 - British Accended English
talk splattering into the local 201 kHz beacon in AM Wide mode ! The signal

[HCDX] Correction: 603 kHz from Grayland - Dec. 29

2009-01-07 Thread Guy Atkins
Thanks to the TP DX experience of Nick Hall-Patch and the Korean language
fluency of Bill Harms, my 603 kHz station at 1500 UTC on Dec. 29th has been
positively identified as KBS2 Korea, not Japan.

Bill says: In the 1500 clip you have a definite ID by the female
announcer. KBS je-i Radio imnida or KBS radio two in English. Then right
before the sounder and the tips, she gave a time check for midnight.

Thanks Nick Bill for your help.

[HCDX] Correction to log for Al Muick 14/15 October

2008-10-15 Thread Albert Muick
Hi gang,

I fat fingered the keyboard this morning. I meant to type 1700, but hit the
9 key in the log for Bangldesh Betar, so I should have typed that I
checked back at 1700. Corrected log is below.

Sorry for any inconveniences caused!

4750 BANGLADESH Bangladesh Betar heard at 1600 GMT on 14 Oct. in
Bangladeshi with time pips, full ID, short newscast and then music program
of traditional and modern mx. Brief announcements by OM between songs.

Powerhouse S5 signal. I was very surprised as I had not heard them at this
strength before. Checked back at 1700 but they were starting to fade
already. Maybe propagation was good this day...

[HCDX] Correction - We meant Pohnpei not Palau

2007-10-15 Thread info

CORRECTION
In the Radio Heritage News #18 we incorrectly stated a new SW station
had started broadcasting on Palau. This was wrong, it should have
read Pohnpei and we apologize for any confusion. Our mea culpa is
that we are also working on a new item about WWII station WVTW
located in the Palau District to go online at www.radioheritage.net
shortly. We simply had 'Palau' on the brain:) Our thanks to those who
have written to point out this unplanned 'spot the error' and assure
you, we will watch both our 'p's and p's' in the future.
Warm regards

[HCDX] CORRECTION ON RADIO VISION

2007-01-24 Thread ka4prf
Please Amend my previous logging of Radio Vision:

Peru, 4790.13, Radio Vision, 0037-0110
It seems that Radio Vision hasn't changed it's format from religious to
secular. However, all
activity before 0100 was secular type programming. On the hour at 0100, they
stopped broadcasting popular music, Huaynos etc, and are presenting a religious
program. It sounds like some kind of discussion. Also, the signal seemed to
increase power
slightly when this program began. (Chuck Bolland, January 25, 2007)

Correction:

My logging of BBC on 6110 from 0755-1000+ must have been CVC Chile as Noel
Green was kind enough to point out. I guess the BBC IDs that I was
hearing were actually CVC. And of course its a regular on this freq in
PT. Sorry for any confusion.

[HCDX] Correction and addendums to my log from Puerto rico

2005-01-29 Thread alfa011
Hi..

A sharp-eyed list member has kindly brought to my attention an error on my log
from Puerto Rico.

My posting:

09:45 4835 55355 UNID Female crying and talking about her sins and
sufferings while male (in background with a reverberating voice) talks to her
about Jesus in Spanish, (very eerie transmission)

The correct frequency is 4385 kHz and afterwards was properly identified by me
as Radio Imperio from PERU.

Also another kind list member has identified the spanish language time standard
station in 3810 kHz as HD2IOA, Instituto Oceanografico de la Armada, Guayaquil,
Ecuador

My apologies for the error and my apreciation to the list members that wrote to
help me.

[HCDX] Correction - 2 NEW Radio Sawa logs

2003-08-25 Thread aurel chiochiu
I just received an e-mail from a DX`er called Bob Montgomery that did point to me the
Radio Sawa transmitter on 12010 was from Marocco not from the Phillipines (the PWBR do
not list any Maroccan station on this channel, and the Phillipines seemed to me the
most likely outlet of all the stations listed on 12010 in PWBR). I will try to obtain
the WRTH as it may be more precise than the PWBR. Right now I listen to Médi Un 9575
on the Umea web-controlled receiver (http://194.165.225.6/sfors/) as my Sangean 606 is
unusable due to the weak batteries that I have (It turns off by it`s self with a E
message). Here is the corrected report of this afternoon SW DX loggings:

Hello to all of you !

This afternoon I managed to re-install the long-wire in our own back-yard
wich I didn`t manage to do since I returned from the summer camp near Quebec
City were my Sanyo radio broked (I taked it instead on our travels to
New-Bruntswick and Île-Bizard) and managed to pull in this while sitting on
our table in the back-yard, on the patio:

12010 MAROCCO, Radio Sawa via VOA AUG 24 2137-2154 - playing You Got It
(The Right Stuff) by New Kids on the Block from 1988 followed by a jingle
featuring short bits of AA and international pops with mention of Arabia
Saudia, followed by an Arabic pop tune, then Sawa jingle followed by
Jennifer Lopez - Glad, then Radio Sawa jingle followed by nx, then Arabic
pops presented by a male announcer. Fair to very good reception, //12040
wich had only poor-fair reception. Both NEW ! (Chiochiu-QC)

12050 EGYPT, Egyptian Radiom, Kafr Silîm-Abis AUG 24 2155 - Only PRESUMED !
(darn I could have gotten an ID if that stupid Sangean with it`s weak
batteries didn`t turned off) with traditionnal AA song followed by apparent
nx. Didn`t even know if they had pips and ID at the top of the hour. Very,
very good reception and would have been new for me. (Chiochiu-QC)

Bogdan Alexandru Chiochiu
Sangean 606 rx w/long-wire antenna in the back-yard, DX`ing from a table on
our patio

I did read in the IDXD bulletin of NRC that Radio Sawa is a radio station
run by the Americans in Iraq who program a mixture of new Arabic pop songs
and modern international pop music, like Jennifer Lopez, but I didn`t
believe I will hear them someday. My Sangean 606 is really sensitive and
selectif on SW, unlike my first SW radio I did got as a gift for my 13 years
in 2000, a poor Realistic DX-351 multi-band radio wich aside from not having
good gain at all for receptions of SW broadacsters below the good level of
signal, had the selectivity so poor, that I sometimes thought I did not even
had a filter. It also overloaded very easily on the extremely strong major
international broadcast signal like the VOA.

I also noted Medi Un on 9575 with traditionnal Arabic music at good level
with moderate splatter from Africa Numéro Un on 9580 at around 2132 UTC
before I came accros the Radio Sawa outlets. And before DX`ing Medi Un, I
heard tentatively the Voice of the Islamic Republic of Iran on 11885 and CHU
on both 3330 and 7335 with poor to fair signals, so they are back to
full-power. Unfortunatly, I can`t DX anymore now because all the batteries
we have are weak and the sound on my Sangean is distortionated and often it
witches off by it`s self with a reverse 3 message (E) for Error and I can`t
turned it on for minutes in a row. This is sad, because I found a power
supply on our patio where I connected a portable radio with microphone tape
recorder and managed to record a very little bit of the 12010 Radio Sawa
program until the radio switched off by it`s self ! I also managed to record
a traditionnal Arabic tune from presumably Egyptian Radio on 12050, but the
Sangean 606 switched off toward the end of the song and now just a song out
of nowhere doesn`t make any sense on a tape that absolutely need to contain
station IDs from the signals I hear.
