We tried this on our servers for a while and it is a pain. You have to manually add each item you want to allow. Our policy was to only allow skin changes and no changes to any models but still, people were using particles and who knows what else. We were never really comfortable with this

Just a note: The whitelist configuration settings are different for TF2, and CS:S. I normally use the following config for CS:S, however it does _not_ work for TF2, which I suppose is because there are like 1-2 new whitelist files that have appeared, and I'm unsure of how to tweak. Whatever I do

Nightbox is just posting engine bug what is Valve ignoring, btw you dont need sv_cheats set to 1 on client when you are changing cheat protected cvars like r_drawothermodels 2 plugin loading should be enabled only when server is running (local/dedicated)

I just rewrote my servers custom whitelist. It allows view models but not world models and blocks most everything. I allow custom sounds except for player sounds, sprays, the community HUD(resource files), and custom view models. I allow particles because im not quite sure how they can be
