want to try it, then demo servers will have to stay available which means this
command line will be left all depends. If they change it, it will be the

While I agree that these concerns are valid and of importance (to GSPs,

Any chance we can get a guesstamate as to when the remaining server files will
be ready for download? An hour and a half before the release of the demo and

Why oh why drop the server browser?
Forgive me, but that sounds like a console port which is a massive
step back. It eliminates any incentive GSP's like ourselves have to
run servers as there is no promotion point.
Yes there's MOTD with a banner, but that only displays to players
joining the serv

and go, replacing AI players as the join.

"favorite" servers.
The matchmaking system is most likely not a system completely different from
the server browser. Although it may look like at first sight. There will
still be clients, servers and master servers. Valve won'

A small fix for the Linux and Win32 L4D Demo Dedicated Servers have been
released. Please run hldsupdatetool (with either the game parameter of
l4d_demo, or left4dead) to get the new files. This should allow dedicated
servers to run.

Some progress, I now get a normal console output however I get the
following errors on it:
Unable to load Steam support library.
This server will operate in LAN mode only.

Same here. If I remove -console and use the GUI it starts up fine it seems.
