Did you verify your CUADDR's are correct? I've seen an instance where
the CUADDR was wrong and it brought up the same VOLUME on two UCB's.

We've used ESP for 5+ years replacing Jobtrac. It is a great product that,
unfortunately, is now owned by CA.

Our IT department is having a debate about ownership of the compile

Is it possible to add a new CP or zAAP to a running LPAR or is it
necessary to do an activate on the LPAR after the activation profile is

We went from a 2096-F01 to 2096-F02 and added a zAAP. I'd really like
to add these w/o shutting down.

We attempted to run a soon to be eliminated OS/390 2.6 system on a
z/890 a while back. The system did IPL, but once more than a few users
got on, performance was terrible. We moved them back to the Amdahl that
came off lease until we could upgrade it to OS/390 2.10 (then
supported).
We upgraded our z890 to a z9 BC. We got a new frame and the only thing
moved from the z/890 were the I/O cards (OSA, FICON, ESCON, etc).

I can't say I understand these articles that talk about escalating
mainframe costs.
At my company, we consistently make deals where we end up with better
storage, faster processors, etc and our costs actually go down.
Whereas, our counterparts in open systems consistently see their
hardware,
