Good Day To All,
I have a question about restoring multiple volumes using DFDSS. I ran a
'TYPRUN=NORUN' and there were no errors posted. My question is will the
volumes be restored similtaneously with DFDSS or will it be restored one pack
at a time? We used to have ExHPDM which restored 7

Joe, no.
Please read the book. It does not talk about register 2 containing
anything before issuing IEAMSCHD.
FWIW, I don't know what your question has to do with my post about
Address location.

Thanks for the help. I thought the PARALLEL parm was only restriced when
ExHPDM is invoked. I suppose the PARALLEL parm can also be used for
similtaneous backups.

As shown, the volumes will run sequentially.
To run multiple restores concurrently specify PARALLEL as the first command in
SYSIN.

What type of hardware are you using for z/OS DASD? EMC, IBM,HDS etc...
The RMF details show what z/OS is seeing, but there is also inside the array

The data are all there in the report - by default RMF
one option might be to implement something via the Line Command Table...
Primary command to Copy from screen XXX to screen YYY - need to create a
nice ACRONYM - that could then go on PF KEY
mark source range in screen XXX
mark target in screen YYY
issue command... REXX does the rest.
