I have downloaded the XMIT file from the CBT site to my Winows 11 laptop here
and used the XmitManager app to open it. I see several members that appear to
be plain text files (the notes, JCL, etc.) but the SCRE member doesn't appear
to be just plain text. Maybe an unloaded PDS?

What Jay said. Yes, you can run z/VM on a z114 with only FBA devices (I know of
a z114 in Sweden being run that way), but it can not emulate CKD devices. If
you want to run MVS. or z/OS, either in an LPAR or as a guest of z/VM, you will
need CKD dasd someplace.

I would like to see x3270 support GDDM graphics. It would come in handy viewing
the GDDM graphics displays the IBM Performance Toolkit for z/VM produces now
