I think the answer will depend on your shop. Some shops will place the HLQ as the componet's 3 char indicator - for example HAS for JES, EZA for communciations, etc.. Some shops place the SYS1 HLQ on all IBM products and a different HQL for OEM products. In the CBPDO process you can rename the

/dev/console is the device for sending messages to the console. You may tailor syslogd.conf to direct the requested messages to that device.. You'll want to be careful what is directed to the console. It's been many years but I vaguely recall some situations where you could flood your console.
