COBOL has had XML parsing for a while, and has generation. Of late it uses the
z/OS System Service. For JSON parsing (parsing only so far) it also uses the
existing z/OS System Service.
So Enterprise COBOL has native parsing/generation for XML and native parsing

Maybe now we have some sort of confusion on acronyms;
I was talking of XLS = file extension of ExCel files,

IEBUPDTE depends on 'standard' line numbers in columns 73 - 80 to identify

Answer on my S0c4 question. Given that LE was involved, Dumpmaster's LE exit
module DMBLEATE captured the dump. If Dumpmaster was not there, a dump would
have been produced, most likely to a SYSDUMPn dataset or possibly a SYSOUT
dataset as I understand it.

CSV has been around a long time (I certainly used them in '91, and perhaps
earlier). It for sure would be good to have native COBOL support, but 25+ years

not lose any sleep about it happening any time soon.

Don’t you mix up dumps and abends? Was a system dump produces?
I don't know dumpmaster, but does it handle abends or dumps?

Yes, a dump was produced, it was picked up by Macro 4's dumpmaster. LE may be

You have two issues to consider.
a) what ldap strings the client is "programmed" to be able to send.
check your ITDS log file (or trace) on z/os to see what is being sent
and make adjustments if needed
b) what ldap strings the Tivoli Directory Server will accept.
Only a few filters are allowed
