I asked our sysprogs and it seems we are using batch LSR as well as BMC
Mainview Batch Optimizer.
So the only potential area of improvement is in CICS. Now we don't have RLS
and since most of our VSAM updates are done via EXCI interfaces to CICS
transactions, is that really batch now or online?
Paypal stores your credit card information (if you want) and of course
wants you to maintain +ve balances rather than move the funds back to your
bank account. Possibly they have lots of money in those accounts which they
can use to invest and which are not probably FDIC guaranteed.

Yes, that is correct. The COBOL exit in my earlier post does consider that and

customer use. ACTIVATE in CSVDYNL is one.
Customers need control over this action. It is made available by command and is
not available via the programming interface.

I need you to stop overthinking z/OS console. It's become very simple since IBM
rewrote it several years ago. When running on a 3215 console printer, lines are
printed and when running on a 3270, it's a fullscreen interface (like every
other fullscreen application such as xedit).
