For those with at least one foot in the Apple ecosystem, if you have an
i-device (ipad/iphone), drag and drop the ePub on iTunes, then sync your
device with iTunes. The books
Small tip: change .EPUB to .ZIP and simply unpack it. You'll get HTML
content which can be read using my favorite AnyBrowser. ;-)

If you don't have an i-device, Bookle
When I download from Redbooks, using Windows 7, I get a xx.epub file
stored. I process it with Calibre. You can read it with Calibre or, as I
do, move it to my Kindle (Calibre will convert it to the proper format).
Works great.
