Not exactly.
DB2 use VSAM and you can use IDCAMS or ADRDSSU to backup/restore/move
such datasets. However things are more complicated,
@Martin: I'm totally new about IAM, if you know anything about this
restoring process pls help me.
@All: I just know that they replaced some part of VSAM to IAM but now they
requested to restore this IAM dataset and i'm very new to IAM.
Kindly help me

Rajesh,
After the restore, make sure the dataset-owner got set properly. Ours shows an
owner of $IAM. If you do not put the owner in, it defaults to native VSAM and
you cannot read the file.

If any IAM dataset owners have FDR in their shop, It backs up and restores
IAM files perfectly as both products are from Innovation DP.

Dear Mates,
I'm facing an issue in restoring IAM datasets, it is a multivolume dataset and
we are taking logical backups.
In Dataset Report the datasets are shown as PS file, but when i tried to
restore the file using normal logical restoration, i am unable to open the
file. It shows I/O

Still miss Bruce Black. Anyway last time I tried, think you have to specify
same number of Vols
for Restore as were spanned on input. _support@fdrinnovation.com_

Dear
Martin is implying you should contact Innovation and ask them if logical
backup/restore is appropriate for IAM. They developed their own access method.
Depending upon their design, your backup / restore utility might have special
requirements. Maybe it requires the same track size. Maybe it's
VSAM, IMS, DB2 all require their own backup program. I would expect
IAM to have their own backup program too.
