that is JS based (run-in the browser) but it is an install
on z/OS and doesn’t have robust keyboard mapping and I think its missing things
like IND$FILE. Not a lot of good free options on Mac.

Could you use an VRRDS instead of an ESDS ? Seems like a zero length record
would be supported (at least the doc indicates a record of any size and I
believe 0 is a size.

BMC’s Ctrl M is another solution that does batch automation on Z and
distributed as well as ESP from Broadcom. Nothing really different on
distributed environments versus mainframe apart from spool processing but those
exist as well but not quite as well organized as on Z imho.

If I were to venture a guess they hand this off to design people (which is
good) that are not getting feedback from the target audience (which is bad).
That coupled with the attempt to unify everything with Cloud creates more of a
lukewarm experience for everyone.

You indicated RACF which sometimes people use generically for SAF). If you
have Top Secret or ACF2 there is an additional SMF record (type 230 IIRC). TSS
and ACF2 also generate the type 80s for consistency.
