I totally agree. We do not do business with anyone who out sources their
tech support. We've lost enough jobs to overseas call centers and it's time
to start voting with our checkbooks and credit cards.

AMEN Brotha! We are evaluating all of our vendor's support offerings as
well and are looking for alternative products if they are not home grown.
As a customer, I should only have to overcome the technical issues NOT the
language barrier as well.
Keep up the good work!

You bet!!! I would MUCH rather deal with a tech support person in the US
that can't speak English than one overseas that can't.

Can't say that I've ever been watching the CPU when that happens, but with
real time AV and everything else I wonder what would happen if a lot of
folks all did that at the same time? We've clamped our files size to 3 Megs
and recommend FTP of Sharepoint and if they are still protest we recommend
Funny thing about all of this is that those that seem to charge us the most
for what they provide are often the ones that offer the least in terms of
support and resolve. They charge so much but then instead of supporting our
local economy they farm it out to sweatshop style support people who a
I just renewed the support contracts for our Cisco Routers and there were a
whopping $200 each. How can ipswitch lose money on their support when Cisco
must pay people WAY more than ipswitch. Also, I can call them 24 hours a day
even on Xmas.
Oh well.

And you didn't even mention that with Cisco their support is AWESOME..

I would actually think that Cisco would have far more support issues than
Ipswitch due to the relative complexity of their products. While quality of
the products is certainly a large factor, there are only so many ways
That's why I'm not clear on how ipswtich is maintaining that their support
is a loss at $495 per year. Doesn't matter anymore as we'll be moving on
anyway but it just begs the question.
