Dear Garg ji and Sourav ji
I think we are getting closer. However, since I am not very closely
familiar with the spp, I would have to rely on the spp characters mentioned
in the literature.
Request you to kindly get a sample of the specimen, take close up photos of
all structures. This would be very good when the spp is flowering/
fruiting. Also you may cut the fls / frt and photograph those. Check for
the ripe fruit characters as well.
If it has not been collected in the last 100 yrs, you may think of getting
it published!!
Best wishes for it..

This looks like Coelogyne nitida but I am not sure. I need better pics of
whole plant. For Coelogyne it is important to see where the inflorescence
is coming out from? from the top of the bulb or from the base and if the
inflorescence is coming out from mature bulbs or juvenile bulbs.
Thanks and regards

Thanks Garg Ji and Kanhaiya Lal Ji,

As I could not record close pics, exact identification is not easy. I can
only say, this does not look like *Schefflera venulosa* to me..and I cannot
see the pics/references by Kanhaiya Lal Ji in support of* S. wallichiana*,
it will be good if they are shared again..

post the photos publicly on the efloraofindia site:

He said:
"Surely I will be more than happy if you or any of your friend could post
that pictures to solve the ID, feel free to spread the images.
The vine is located on a road construction site, so I really wish to
identify it, if it is a rare plant that I should try to relocate it to a
safe area, or try to propagate some to save it since I am afraid it will be
destroyed. as you might know, not many of the people are concerned with the
wild plants in my area."

Thank you and thanks to all the other botanists and plant enthusiasts who
may help to identify this vine.

Hello Mr J M Garg,
Please, I do not want to post the photos publicly as they do not belong to
me.

The plant site formerly known as All Things Plants, now known as The
National Gardening Association (NGA), has members from all over the world.

One of our newer members is named 'tofi' who lives in Sumatera, Indonesia.
He posted several images of a vining plant growing wild in the Sumatran
highland rainforest, bearing pink fruit with white flesh and a single seed.
He describes the plant as a tropical vine with tendrils, leaves simple with
toothed margin, fruits approximately 2-2,5 cm, the seed 1,5 x 1 cm.

Can you please assist to identify this plant for 'tofi'.
And if you are able to identify, may I have permission to post the answer
on the NGA plant site. Thank you in advance.
