There are a couple ways to suspend notifications:
1) InterMapper 3.5 and newer have a snooze alarm feature that allows you to
disable all alarms globally for up to 15 minutes. Whenever you acknowledge an
outage, you can check the Don't send notifications for ___ minutes box. This
