Ron,
I think most of us agree with you that it's a bad idea.
However I don't think it's InterMapper's role to enforce best
network practices.
I am very concerned that we don't do that. We all use InterMapper in

Loopback interfaces are often configured with /32 addresses. We have dozens of
them, all for good reasons, or so we think. I've never seen InterMapper
Intermapper should just display what ever mask an administrator

Intermapper job is to display what is on the router. No exceptions

I agree, but a potential good value-added is the ability to detect
potential configuration mistakes. We rely here on a lot of automation
tools, one of which is InterMapper, to check our work.
Perhaps the best compromise is to have a global or per-map server

I for one would NOT welcome this change. The RFC's are holy for a reason.

Believe it or not, I am not ignoring the RFCs.
Folks:
Thanks for the spirited discussion of how you use various kinds of subnets. It's
helpful to hear all this so that InterMapper can do the right thing for our
customers.
In pursuit of this goal, I'd like to expand the discussion so that we can
understand all the possibilities.

Yes, but primarily for loopbacks, not end devices.
