Hi Nigel,
VOA Thailand appeared out of nowhere at 1230 with their best
signal in months. On the other hand Gary's superstar of the day on 972
was at best a feeble carrier here.
Well, I guess that makes us even, Nigel-- I had only a feeble carrier on

Well I brought out both of my ULR's and Smartphone in an attempt to not
only gran some Friday night HS football games that always seem to stand out
but maybe take advantage of the auroral conditions. I ventured out to our
tree bench, in an effort to get away from TV and PC generated RFI. I
With the solar action I wasn't expecting any Asians, and my
expectations were met in that regard. Had hoped the DU stuff would be
invigorated, but that hope was only met to a small degree. Yes, the
action was all DU, and there were quite a number of carriers, but the
audio was pretty
Hi All,
A while ago, I published my first Daytime MW bandscan
http://www.quebecdx.com/daytime_mw_bandscan_august_2007.html
Now seven years later, I finally gave me some time to work on an updated
edition of the bandscan. Both versions came from late August and I have
been using the same

Hello All,
Well, once again my morning results were the direct opposite of Nigel's-- I had
some marginal Asian TP reception on the low band, but no trace of DU
propagation :-)
At my 1230 UTC start time a couple of NHK die-hards (594-JOAK and 693-JOAB)
were the only Asians

Hi Nigel,
In any case, like Nick and Chuck, I have always been amazed at your DU-DXing prowess in
such a distant location as Alberta. Quite a few times on the Oregon cliffs I would make
what I thought was a pretty good DU-DX reception
Ahum ... The receiver in service for the 2007 bandscan was the Icom R75
(which I still own). I had my Perseus a year later, in 2008.

TP reception today was not very good. The lower part of the band was
downright pathetic, with half-hearted carriers on 693 747 and 774.
The upper part of the dial was slightly better in terms of carrier
counts. 1575, 1566, and 1377 sort of kinda had a few bits of what I
think sounded like

It was a surprisingly productive morning in bits and pieces, Asiatics
first (nothing unusual except for the fact that the K-index had been
7 about half a day earlier), then Aussies. Though mostly weak, there
were moments of better quality signals, believe it or not.
pretty darn good audio
