No sign of the test up here. Conditions have been poor all day with high
noise, possibly due to the snow that has been falling for most of the day,
and low signal levels, so I wasn't expecting much. Even CBW, which normally
dominates the frequency, was barely above the noise at times. Early

I used three Radio Shack 276-320 white LEDs. 3.6v, 20ma. All I did was
push them into the existing Palstar grommets used to hold the three
factory

Earlier this evening I heard a very faint carrier on 198, barely above the
noise floor. Could this have been one of the UK's BBC Radio 4 transmitters?

Dozens and dozens of TA's were in here this evening. As usual, most were just
carriers, but I did manage to extract audio from around 20 or so. It all
started well before local sunset (19:12 MDT) when I found a huge carrier on
1215 and it went on from there. Carriers heard
Nick and Walt. I got to it first this time. I had great audio from both 1215
and 1134 shortly after local sunset. But they didn't last. Within 15 minutes
both were nothing but faint carriers. About a dozen other carriers in too.

Yes, I have heard CFPR 860 splatter on 850 870 here. Especially
when they run music programs. CFPR can be nearly as strong as CBU at
times. Their 10 KW ND gets out very well up and down the coast.

I briefly saw Guy's 7030 some years back at Grayland. I have heard that
it is the best receiver out there since the R8/A/B is out of production.
I have also heard the menus can be a bit confusing at first.

I'm in need of a little help with a station I had in briefly last night on
1480. The calls sounded like WNBC or WNEZ. Now I know WNBC is a TV station in
NY and WNEZ is listed as a daytimer on 1480 in CT so I dunno who I had.
Searching the internet gives very conflicting

dominant station, fading in and out with 2 other stations. One was Spannish,
so possibly the Cuban. The other was under the SS station and much

evening. In fact there were dozens of carriers in, from a low of 531 upto

Six days ago I reported a tentative logging for 570-CFWH. Tentative because I
had no positive ID other than hearing CBC news at 08:00MST. Several members
said I should count it as heard, but I said I'd try again. Since then I have
tried to hear it again several times and this morning at 07:58 I

Dozens of carriers in here this evening, from longwaves up to 1584. Many of
them strong enough to create substantial hets on domestics. Unfortunately, I
wasn't able to extract audio from very many. The regulars 153, 162, 189,
1134, 1215, and 1575, were all in. Two not so regularly heard were

Yeah you're right there Pat. The further north one goes, the longer the TA
window is open. I remember Brian Vernon's reports from the 70's or 80's when

I'm currently hearing carriers on about 20 frequencies throughout the MW band.
I'm also hearing audio on further 6. Mostly in the LW band, but 2 of them are
MW. These are 153, 162, 171, 189, 1053 and 1134. Just a carrier on 1215 so far,
and nothing at all on 1575.

Hi Everyone:
Quite a few TA signals in here this evening. I counted 17 carriers from the LW
and up thru MW to 1575. I managed to extract weak noisy audio from 7 of them,
153, 162, 189, 1053, 1134, 1215 and 1575. Nothing new, but after weeks of
nothing but LW TA's, quite a change to hear some
