Paul, Sure, you can hear a station with 10 watts 5 miles or 10miles, but not at S9+55DB 47 watts at 5 miles is not going to give you S9+55DB directly from an EWE antenna to a receiver, unless you have alot of amplication to push that S meter up. If the station was operating with 5 KW rather

Paul, There is no limit on how strong a signal can be. Although, I have not seen anything over S9+60 DB. To give you an example, once a signal gets over S9+40DB, depending on how good the receiver is, the front end can start to overload and you may get images from the strong signal. The better
