There was no Asian propagation noted this morning on medium-wave from
Michigan, however North Korea had a booming signal here on 2850 kHz a bit
after local sunrise and perhaps the best I've heard them here, but it
didn't translate down to the MW band for me.

Heads up: according to the Topband list, this morning, 160m hams in

TP conditions today were reasonably good, but were down a bit from the
past couple of days. The low -end NHK stations remained dominant, and
the high end was rather unexciting.

I don't think I saw TP reports from Gary, Dennis, or anyone else this
morning. If they listened, their results may have been like mine. I
recorded with the Excalibur again between 1125 and 1405UTC and spent
maybe three minutes reviewing the files. I checked 1566, 774 and 972 -

Conditions improved quite a bit today, with a sterling performance by
the 972 Korean, and cameo appearances by a couple of others. Even so,
reception was limited to a few of the regulars
My recording started at 1125 today, which helped in finding TP activity

It was another decidedly mediocre morning for TPs. HLAZ was the only
one that woke up today. A few others muttered incoherently, rolled
over, and went back to sleep.

Rick - no I won't be at the convention, even though it sounds like fun.
I believe there will be one or two northwesterners there.

Gary and I were obviously DXing on different planets today, even though
our mailing addresses are only 30 miles apart. There was no generous
low-band enhancement around here, I'm sorry to say.

This morning I decided to set up the SDR to check for TPs. The results
weren't bad for August.
Most of the action took place 1215-1240 UTC. 972 Korea had decent audio
at times; I could have understood some of it if I spoke Korean.
HLAZ-1566 was somewhat OK with music and female talk.
Not a bad morning, but not a great one. I was limited mainly to the
usual NHK and Korean stations, with no big surprises.
